103 Bold & Beautiful swimmers swam this morning.
Getting to the surf club early gives you time to contemplate the week ahead
Or to take a break from a busy schedule. Here is Wilf arriving after filming his interview with TV host Ellen de Generes. Apparently he couldnt miss his morning swim so she flew all the way to Oz for the occasion.
Imagine my surprise this morning when I saw that Annie was back! YAY! I thought she was travelling through Asia…you cant miss that blue suit!
Bruce couldnt contain his excitement as usual
Emer & Lesley were at different levels of anticipation
Seriously though, this is the start of our day! EVERY day!!!!
Big thanks to Corinne for picking up my 6km badge yesterday! (Yes, this is just a shameless plug that I did 6km)
This is Brenton giving me the finger. Nice.
Again, conditions were amazing this morning. Flat, clear, sunny. If you are reading this blog and havent yet come down for a swim, you wont be dissapointed if you do. We would love to see you!
This is Jane. She is ahead of me in the Pacific Challenge.
Not for long Jane……not for long…….
And here are a couple of the boys (Bruce & Alex) swimming past me on their double.
Will leave you with my fav shot of the day…a solitary paddle-board against the sunrise.
Tuesday 2nd April is the next Bluewater dinner. You’ve seen the photos, so come along and make merry. Great value at just $20 for two courses with $5 drinks. To register your attendance follow the link Bluewater Monthly Dinner CLICK HERE
Relay For Life
Last year the B&B had a team in very successful Relay For Life event. The staggering $209,000 raised by the event will go towards research, support, prevention, education, information and advocacy program.
To celebrate the success the organisers want to thank all the 2012 teams by inviting them to an action packed afternoon of Barefoot Bowls hosted by Rock ‘n Bowl.
As part of the afternoon festivities the B&B team’s efforts will be recognised with a special presentation, followed by many laughs, a delicious barbeque and some barefoot bowls. The Manly Relay For Life Rock n Bowl is free to attend. Please RSVP by Wednesday 27th March, 2013 by calling 9334 1600 or email: northernsydneyevent@nswcc.org.au
And because it was so much fun last year, there is an exclusive Early Bird Special for the B&B of only $10pp to register for the 2013 Manly Relay For Life. Jules Mackin is the team captain and chief organiser. Give her a call on 0430 156 170 if you want to join the team.
Staying safe
NEW water safety tips!!! Michael’s tips remain valid but this updated guide is courtesy of champion Ironman Craig ‘Riddo’ Riddington. He has put this RIP/ Surf swim education document together for the B&B and it’s a good read. To read and even download click here

Did you notice this Newbie this morning? The built-in snorkle is a good idea.

Glad those pics are up I can gain several blog tart spreddy points due to appearing in the background busily working away on the blog – phew.

This is a great idea, although a built in snorkel may look funny at work!

Hahaha. The Annie lookalike in the blue wettie at the begining in 3 shots is Greg who is staying in the 1 bed apartment we rent out. (I’m also managing Jules and Michael’s 3 bedder btw and it’s still free for Easter if anyone interested.) I told him about the swm and he appears in 3 photos! Not sure whether to tell him though. He might think he’s being harrassed!

Note that someone seems to be in every photo at the badge ceremony. This must be a tarting record.
BTW, nice blob Rog.

Fear not Ros! The White Groper will back in the water tomorrow, chasing Mary’s camera and bombing photos all round.
In the meantime the badge ceremony photo will have to do..

Quite like my expression. I think I managed to bomb my own photo!

Well that’s a relief! With LSA/HKTQ now out of the picture, there’s a lot of photo-bomb responsibility resting on your shoulders. I expect you to rise to the challenge in a suitably flamboyant style!
