Ocean swimming is not everyones cup of tea. Tetley trumped the swim for me this morning !
It was a beautiful morning as always, which took the sting out of my aged body and reflective mood…..
All the usual celebrities were out walking the concrete carpet. Dreamboat finally got a job like the rest of us !! controlling the masses of fans that showed up to get a look a which lucky lady had finally bagged Tayls.
I was busy wishing I were a more talented and accomplished writer so I could deliver you some beautifully written prose, and articulate more succinctly what I wanted to say today, when someone handed me a gift. Literally ! in it were some very lovely words about new beginnings – this person clearly more talented and accomplished than me – which I will share at the end,
In the meantime, here’s my slop:
Once up a UK New Years Eve time, there was a little girl – we’ll call her Kelly – sat crossed legged in front of her television, watching the fireworks going off in Sydney.
Dreaming of the white sails on faraway shores, she longed to bathe in glorious year round sunshine. She wanted a boyfriend with blonde shaggy hair who surfed; to drive around in a beat up white Suzuki jeep, and to live happily ever after in a hut by the beach.
Fast forward 20 years … still in beige Blighty, after ANOTHER row with her selfish beige boyfriend of 5 years, about her wanting to paint some actual colour in their beige home, 2* year old Kelly shut herself in the spare room (slamming the door of course) with the boyfriends credit card, and purchased a wonderful little document called a “Working Holiday Visa” … hoping one day to work up the courage to leave for the bright colours of the Motherland.
Very shortly after her 3*th birthday (which true to form, selfish boyfriend did not attend) Kelly “happened” across some texts in his Nokia 3210 to someone called Stephanie, about what underwear she was wearing.
Stephanie’s response was as predictable and it was irrelevant … “none” …
Kelly left the beige building.
And so, nearly 8 years later, and very shortly after my 3*th birthday. Here I am.
There’s obviously a lot more to the story, and even more water under the bridge. There’s no blonde surfer (unless you count Storchy) no jeep, and I’m not in a hut. But look !!! my beige is now blue, and spattered with pink dots.
In my last blog, I said that everyone had their own story and personal attachment to the B & B crowd. The gift I received today is testament to the power of the pink cap.
Whatever or whomever your “Stephanie-no-pants” story is … Thank you to all of you for making my mornings prettier and pinker than the selfish boyfriend would ever let me paint mine !
Oh, and “Cheers” to you Stephanie for being a pant-less **** !

wow….Jonesy….I bet Stephanie was really wearing ” bridget Jones ” cotton tails…not a pretty thought !! Now a ” real ” girl ( not Stephanie ) does go ” commando ” on occasion which is a good thing. Not sure who for but hopefully one day will find out.
