24/8/2013 – Living the dream

24/08/201321

Another cold one this morning folks.  With the cold breeze surrounding us I saw many people cold before they even started the swim.  The comradery of the swimmers always helps keeps us motivated when we don’t really feel like dipping our toes into that cold water.  As we all know though the benefits of swimming in the cold water definately outweigh the thoughts of sitting it out and of course the hope that we may come across some more whales, dolphines, turtles or who knows what.

Oh, what a feeling! Me making the most of the beautiful sunrise.

Here we see some of the locals taking in the morning sunrise.  Perfect way to start the day.

 Watching the sunrise.

With the goal in sight and groomed sand  it’s a fantastic walk along the beach.

Some people are finding the water a little bit chilly.  Not mentioning any names and you can’t hide Robbie. Whoops, did i say that out loud.

Such calm waters this morning.  It was like a bath. Well the fish think so.

A lone B&B Swimmer enjoying the morning sunrise with the ocean all to themselves.

Some of the Manly Surf Club boardriders were out early this morning.  Striding across the sunrise.

I got this unusual colouring when I took this photo so I thought that I would share with you.

Shaun is at it again, taunting the girls.

I can’t see alot of skin these days.  It seems like black is the in colour.

We have a message going out today with Anne with an “E” and Jane from Inez….

Jen & Gino

and one from right in amongst the deep blue

Some people really have difficulty getting things moving properly in the cold.  It seems to have an effect on seizing our joints, fingers, toes & lips.

Sarah, you look so cold, but Roz is all smiles even if she is ducking back down under the waters for warmth. For Nigel, it’s no worries. I don’t know what you are all taking about.

Some of us were lucky to spot this young Cuttlefish this morning. Perfectly camouflaged amongst the seaweed.

Some of us thought we would try some underwater shots.  If anyone wants any shots just let me know and I am more than happy to take some. The practice will do me good.

Proof, you can do it Vanessa

Even if it is short lived. Bobbing back up like a cork.

Stephen managed to get this photo of me taking a photo of Vanessa.  The awkard positions you need to get in to get that that great shot.

Love that photo of the young cuttlefish – so well hidden amongst the seaweed. They’re such clever creatures.

beautiful photos Renae, thanks for making the special effort to put Anne with an”E” in the blog. She can’t swim in the open water at the moment, but she taught all those around her to love swimming and love the open water. She will enjoy reading this.

……and aren’t they amazing how they can change not only their skin colour, but the texture, to match the kelp. Great photos, Renae.

Great sunrise and underwater shots. Excellent swimming conditions today with the flat, crystal clear water together with blue skies and bright sunshine. Definitely not the type of day to miss.

It was a vicarious swim, Lainey, for someone who hasn’t been able to get into the water for some months. And of course, is missing it.

Binsy, no need to be so shy! We all know you are a fully fledged pink caper! And proud of it!
I also would like to clear the record, it is Jas and Laura who are the bullies!
They relently taunt me with their cuddly teddies, heartlessly laughing at my frustration.
Hopefully, we will get on tomorrow.
