190 Swimmers

8 newbies, welcome to you all.

20.5C in the water

If you only do one thing today (Apart from swim!), please click on the LINK to donate to the Bear Cottage big swim. Some of our B&B’ers are swimming from Manly to Bondi 14km! in aid of The local Manly hospice for terminally ill children in a months time.

Here are the group selling cakes before (during) and after todays plunge to raise money and awareness. These guys are legends!

Two of these people are setting up the table, one is not helping… 😉

The first of two tables looked great

Right, who brought the melon to the cake sale?

John Bond told me to take some sunrise shots. You do what John Bond says!

Hopefully the weather will be just as good for Cairns IRONMAN participant James Robson tomorrow as there is a BBQ at The Steyne Hotel at 1pm in aid of the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. $20 donation and you get some food & drink!

Enquiries: James.Robson@Censeo.com.au

The point was lovely today, I had a chat with a guy about how perfect a start to the day it was….floating in the ocean at 7am….

But that bloody scouser interrupted our chat by screaming Lets go…

Lastly, Winter badge season starts next week. Make sure you plan your winter swims to hit the 20 minimum required to get your Winter badge. Anyone brave enough to go for the coveted WWW Winter Without Wetsuit badge? Actually, a small group of B&B’ers are doing WWW in aid of another great charity, The Shepherd Centre (Who I work for!) who teach deaf kids to hear and speak. If you would like to join the charity team, email me at robert.byrne@shepherdcentre.org.au – We are looking for people who think they can raise around $500 each to hit our target of $5K! Last year we raised $3,500.

Have a great day, donate some $$ to Janitor John Jackson and his crew!!!

Keep swimming and smiling,

Robster the Blogster

Love the sign off photo, how cute! The ‘Let’s Go’ did go off a bit early today didn’t it? A beautiful sunrise and swim although visibility not as good as in the week. Did anyone see any cuttlefish? Some saw Duskies I heard. Well done on a great cake stall and thanks to everyone who baked, bought or donated!

Yes I saw a cuttlefish at the point, cleverly disguised as the rock it was trying to hide under. And just 3 duskies today.

Good conditions again this morning with even a few waves to catch on the way in
A good roll up for the double with over 25 swimmers
Thanks to those who organised the cake stall,I hope there were plenty of donations for a very worthy cause. Enjoyed the cakes with my coffee.
Good to know you follow instructions Rob.
