213 BnB’ers turned up in anticipation….there’s a rumour out there …there’s a certain badge to be had! Let’s see what the fuss is all about?
6.50am and the crowds start to arrive ….
I’ve heard there’s a Badge to be had? How do we get one? This guy seems to know about them! “How’s my hair looking?’ says Drinky. “Shocking from this angle” shouts Brenton.
Suddenly it’s 7am and we’re heading into the water ….
“No, please, no, not the paparazzi..I haven’t my make up on today!” said Lesbutt
Elaine searched underwater ……”Can’t see any badges here?”
We all arrived at Shelly…..
“Still no badge?”
The fish were pleased to see us today. Thanks to Alyson M (and bump) for this photo.
..and here’s the obligatory ray shot taken by Snorkles.
Just off Half Way beach, hundreds of fish had heard about the BnB ceremony.
“Wait for me, I want one too” said the GIANT Jellyfish.”No one has stung me for a Badge yet!”
Swim over and we headed of to Whitewater this morning, for a great breakfast. Members of The Committee were overheard discussing last minute bribes for badges.
70 people had followed the crowds still discussing those badges …..that’s right today was The Summer Badge Ceremony for those who took on the Summer challenges of either swimming 6km (108 people) or 10km (42 people). And what do they gain for these amazing feats??? A SEW ON BADGE to proudly display on their BnB hoody!!Whooooooo. If you haven’t one of these hoodies, jump on the Bold & Beautiful website and grab one in time for Winter.
Congratulations to all that gained their Badge(s) today, for the rest of us there is a new Badge to be had!! Swim 1,000km and gain the Bold & Beautiful Pacific Challenge Badge. Michael Christie (who??) and John Bond have already qualified. Do remember to tick yourself off every time you arrive, a tick gets you closer to a Badge! The first 30 over the line gain the Badge for FREE.
“It’s All About the Badge” (OK ..it isn’t really its about the swim …..but you get the idea!)
Important News …..sabotage amongst the ranks. Robster the Blogster (our Monday blogger) text me last night to let me know he had ‘forgotten’ to replace the club camera. Now Rob you will understand its quite hard to write a blog without photos…..BUT I have friends 🙂 Thank you to Lesbutt/Wee/Ley who lent me hers. Proof of sabotage?
For the diary . . .
Tuesday 2nd April is the next Bluewater dinner. You’ve seen the photos, so come along and make merry. Great value at just $20 for two courses with $5 drinks. To register your attendance follow the link Bluewater Monthly Dinner CLICK HERE

The Manly Relay For Life Rock n Bowl is free to attend. Please RSVP by Wednesday 27th March, 2013 by calling 9334 1600 or email: northernsydneyevent@nswcc.org.au

Well done Ian and team on a fantastic Badge Ceremony. Special thanks to Aly and Little Sarah for replacing my hoodie and badges. (It did have my name in it.) Bring on the 1000 km badge! (Can’t we have a 500 badge too?)

You spoke too soon, Snorkles:
Our Sarah, the Queen of Hong Kong,
Causes laughter and joy all day long.
She frolics with Lips,
She takes money for ticks,
But why’s it so quiet? – Oh! – She’s gone!

Agree with John. Well done on everyone who helped with the badge presentations this morning.
In particular Ian, who did a fantastic job as MC and successfully resisted kissing some 140 odd swimmers on their salty lips.
Well done to Snorkles and sidekick Stephen for getting the badge blog out in very good time. And keeping their clothes on.
And to Lesley who managed to sell a truckload of pink caps to unsuspecting Whitewater guests. Some of them had absolutely no idea what ‘Bold & Beautiful’ was but assumed it must be some kind of charity and just bought a few..

Actually Julia, rumor has it that Ian was about to call a B&B leadership spill just before the badge presentation this morning, convinced his dear friend Simon Cowell would have the numbers. The Manly Daily had reported on similar rumors previously.
Only minutes later, Simon made it clear that he had no intentions to challenge Jules and Michael for B&B leadership (at this point in time) and so the whole thing was called off before most swimmers had even ordered their bacon and egg rolls. What a dramatic morning. You can’t make this stuff up..

Stephen, I think secretly more people than actually turned up to the Nudie swim wished they had taken part now as they keep feeling the need to keep constantly mention it?

T-Abs asked me to reply to you in his absence as he’s on patrol with Manlys finest ensuring none of the weaker sex (many of whom he’s honoured to call his friends) are endangered in the water by the white grouper or the south african flounder (bites and runs).
Julia; (says T-Abs channelling through me) Get a real hairstyle and leave the politics out of the water!
We in the backroom of the B&B can log-on and see who you are!

I thoroughly enjoyed the swim again today and as I put my pink cap on before I meet other B&B Bers I can go incognito which is refreshing. I’m not sure I approve of being impersonated by a heavily pregnant lady though! Happy swimming everyone!

Sorry John, I’ve been in the make-up chair. You can’t be overprepared for these sort of things!
Congratulations on a well earned badge.
We of the NLP (who do not endorse misogyny, nor living in sin unlike the leader of another party – albeit soon to be minor) sincerely wish everyone in the B&B a truly wonderful day, congratulations on your achievements, eat lamb at your BBQ’s and please pick up my autobiography for the real truth about swimming overboard.
My younger twin Kevin should be getting back to you soon he’s busy at the moment counting.

Thanks Bronny, I’ll take it from here.
Got the jump on them again. It pays to provide community service.
Just back from patrol and aside from the usual whistleblowing at the masses streaming of the Corso onto OUR lovely beach, I’m honoured to have witnessed and can report my good B&B friend Fifi has won the 2.8km in her division!!!
Fifi and I will be modelling this years range of pink budgies and signing autographs and she’ll be passionately promoting our glorious party at the Steyne tonight, from 6pm, bookings essential!
Thanks Fi – You rock girl!

A 500 km badge?? Now there’s a good idea. I will speak to the management. Can’t guarantee that our anonymous benefactor will stump up for any free badges though. You would have to pay for them yourselves.
