24/01/20164

Mornin’ all. Inner Westies here. Surf was up today.  Choppy waves and a big rip. Lots of us walked to the steps. Before I launch into today, announcements first.

AUSTRALIA DAY SWIM NOTICE

Could all experienced BnBers swimming on Tuesday please swim wide to help reign in any outliers expected in the big crowd… JK can’t do it all on his own  ! And don’t forget to bring coins …. (keep reading)

C’mon Aussie c’mon, c’mon! C’mon Aussie, c’mon!

This Australia Day lets support our Friends at Royal Far West. We swim on their doorstep every morning and have been supporters of them for years. Royal Far West also help stock and distribute all Bold and Beautiful’s merchandise.

But helping country kids is what they do best – giving access to health services desperately needed by Aussie kids who live in rural and remote areas. So please bring along some extra money on Tuesday morning and give generously to their volunteers – you will help our country kids be the best they can be!

Fabulous blog. There must have been 30 surfers at the bower. Thanks to Mark who pointed out a school of big fish leaping in and out of the water near half way. Don’t know what fish they were or why but it is something I have not seen before. And just good to see fish above the water because I could not see anything below!

A loosely related event at another event today: the brothers Drinkwater both recorded the identical time of 9 minutes and 53 seconds at the Mona Vale ocean swim. Due to conditions the event was shortened to I don’t know what distance. But hey, brothers doing identical times over any distance has to be worth a mention.
