127 swimmers in total including 1 brave Bolderdasher! Temp: 20.2
There’s always so much happening down at the south end of Manly beach everyday! We have so many people who swim with us now! Everybody has something going on in their lives that they just want to have a break in the ocean for 30 minutes or so to ‘reset’ themselves for the start of the day! I for one am NOT the same without my morning swim! Having a laugh and catch up with everyone too sets a great tone for the day!
A historical moment – Sarah (aka LSA) WITHOUT HER WETSUIT!! woo hoo!
Some people call this ‘miserable’ I call it a magical!
Some waves dumping on us as we went in – too shallow to duck dive…pretty forceful too…
See! Magical!
Majestic
Mysterious!
The waves felt big….there was some duck diving going on…. I learnt today from Mari who is doing her ‘bronze medallion’ with Manly LS Club – that waves usually comes in sets of 3. The 3rd wave being the biggest. Then there is a lull and then another set of 3 (usually) comes through. Good to know if you are a scaredy cat like me!
Ollie octopus on his way home from a big night out of hunting! I didn’t know this but Octopusses (sic) eat mainly ‘crunchy’ things – like lobster, crabs etc and the odd star fish!
Happy Birthday to Izzy!
I saw this floating in the water – it was a message to someone’s father who loved the sea 🙂
Back on dry land – we all scoffed absolutely DELICIOUS home made cakes for Izzy’s birthday!!

Great blog Legsley! Our swims are never miserable whatever the weather and always magical! The ocean was majestic and mysterious today too! It is difficult to duck dive when the water’s shallow. I never know wether to brace myself or try and duck dive anyway? Suggestions? Happy Birthday to lovely Izzy!!

Brave move, Sarah. Keep on trying, the first trip in the cold water is the hardest, don’t give up, you’ll get used to it. I love the message in the water, and the thought behind the one on the other side of the lens, Lesley, just beautiful.
And I love the photos too.

Love the blog Lesley. You always give me a good laugh. Love the last shot with you and Mark. What a classic shot. It looked like a beautiful morning also with the sun shining through the clouds.
How did you manage to spot the octopus. I hope it is still hanging around tomorrow. Would be great to see.
Thankful returnee

Legsley! I’m most impressed that you braved the waves instead of sneaking in a half-way with the other not-so-braves. Congratulations!
Love the magic, mystery and majesty captured in the photos.

Great blog Legsy
Great sign off pic too. I think it shows your vulnerable side.
I’m so pleased you used that shot instead of the one where he put your head on my body!
