Why would a parent want their child to learn, “It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game”?
You’d think that in today’s rat-race it would be wiser to teach them to do whatever it takes to beat the others.
Play is an interesting part of who we are. Our ability to engage in play is actually wired into our deepest brain centres, in an area that also regulates other essential functions like thirst, hunger, temperature and the ability to evade predation. This indicator of how important play is in our development.
Ongoing engagement in play is necessary for our successful psycho-physiological development, the ability to express your highest potential and discover all that you are.
Regardless of trophies, attaining the next invitation to play is the clearest indicator of your ability to excel.

What a beautiful blog. A treat to the eye and senses and it was truly gorgeous yesterday – you captured the mood so well. And what a great reminder about play…we really have it all when we gather together for the swim, regardless of wind and weather – it’s always fun.
