23/09/2013 – The blog that is feeling very blue today

23/09/201313

No, not that blue! The mighty blue of Dublin, Ireland!!!

Our blues won arguably the biggest sporting event of the year in Ireland last night beating Mayo to win the Sam Maguire cup in Gaelic Football. The county has gone crazy! Congrats to the boys and commiserations to the green and red army of the West.

Right, back to swimming…

Beautiful BLUE skies and stunning BLUE water to start the week (See what I did there?)

Even the moon stayed out a little longer than usual to bask in some BLUE glory

Now, we all know that the surf club is under renovation…..

But I can exclusively reveal that they are also planning to build a diving platform just off the point!

Wilf was ready for action today, the picture of concentration

Bill was explaining to everyone how his motivational words pushed people to achieve their goals yesterday at the Sydney Marathon

Speaking of which, congrats to B&B swimmer Paige for completing the gruelling 42.2km course!! Below is Emer giving her a high five as she enters the finish chute with 400M to go. Congrats to all the finishers.

Storchy and gang were bootcamping away before the swim. This photo is slightly blurred due to the speed the guys were running.

This photo of Shaun however, is not blurred. 😉

Mariah looked on in awe. Awwwwwwww Shaun.

After an early swim, James was simply shining

Elaine however was all confused this morning and sprinted off down the beach

No confusion here, our surfer girls were ready for action

Not sure where these came from! Some sneaky waves to make sure we were awake.

I kept Ian company at the point. We did do a video but it was rubbish so I didnt post it….but this IS the point.

Becky modelled the new B&B swimsuit at Shelley

And found the funny side when she realised I wasnt trying to be a perv!

OLD SCHOOL!!! Michael did a double today

Bernhard and family at Shelly

Tina is super stoked to be on swim number 3! Well done and keep going, great to have you in the group!

I also tried to take some more underwater shots, this is Simon diving down to take some photos of a Port Jackson and an Eagle ray. I think I will leave the photography to the pro’s!

There were 115 swimmers today, 2 of which were newbies and we enjoyed a balmy 19.2C water temp!

Keep swimming and Smiling,

Robster the DUBLIN Blogster

The commencement of the Niki B birthday celebrations week starts today.
    Happy Birthday Niki B!
If you see young Nik give her a hug and wish her Happy Birthday, she’s working really hard at the moment and needs all the love she can get.

Binsy, isn’t he the bloke that single handedly saved three Sherpas from half way up Mt. Druitt and then helped them safely cross the Great Western Highway to the Ettamogah Pub at St.Clairs?
Niki, I understand you’re swimming tomorrow? Is that correct? DW said he’d bring the Dolphins in, Nick said he’d organise some Bronies and Leslie’s going to bring her plastics collection for viewing in celebration if true….
    Niki
    Have a wonderful birthday dinner!
