23/06/13 The gloom doesn’t stop a swim

23/06/20135

A night of international rugby and some moody looking skies and still 112 people turn up for a glorious swim.

The scene at 6.50am was looking a little doubtful though.

Helen arrived all wrapped up “I’m only swimming without a wetsuit as I have to, mine hasn’t arrived yet!”

The ladies look lovely and warm in their B&B hoodies

Elaine shows off her new accessory

6.55am and we’re filling up fast.

Errrr, boys ….the swimming caps we wear are pink?!?

Hmm? I had to question this ‘flirting’ with other colours and was glad I got to the bottom of this, speaking of which ….it’s been a while …lets have a “guess the backside” competition.

..and back to the caps. Going…..going……

…..going……

…going….

…going…

….going…..

Gone….by the time they reach the water, they’ve all turned pink!

Whilst it was Dead Calm in the bay….

There were a few sprightly waves to take us to the Point.

Before we know it, we’re half way there.

Happy Birthday to Craig today ….the Birthday song at Shelly is getting sung a lot quicker these days!

Keeping warm is a priority with the water temperature in the 17’s now! Grab the nearest person and give them a hug.

“Let’s Go”

…going….

…Going…..

Gone.
Another swim done and dusted.

Traffic was busier than the Harbour Bridge at peak hour getting back in.

For your Diary

Did I hear something about a Ball?

Yes! Saturday 27 July, 3 course meal, music, fun, drinks and entertainment ……all at St Pats and all for $85.

Themed as The Great Gatsby with a touch of Pink …,enjoy a night out with your fellow swimmers, in a lot more clothes than you normally see them in!

To book go to:

https://bnbball.arrangemyseat.com/

You will need to select your table and detail any dietary requirements. Any questions? Ask Stephen, Nick or me at any swim!

B&B On Tour

Jenny Knapman and Sue Mcgregor have headed straight for the centre (seriously lacking in water to swim in!) but donned their B&B caps for a morning photo at Uluru.

Cool Pics

Alison Harmer sent us a link of some pretty cool photos she took last Sunday. To view, head here:

Great blog for a gloomy day Snorkles. You captured the surprisingly beautiful swim perfectly. Love Photo no 17 where the sky and ocean blend together! Missed seeing Little Sarah though. Get well soon LSA!

Thx Lainey, sorry to miss you and everyone too on D2!
Lots of rest and hot liquids today and should be back ‘in the swim’ tomorrow!
Love your sign-off pic, Snorkles and the tale of the ‘all-sorts’ caps:-)

Well done to Sabine Homrighausen for coming second in Mona Vale winter solstice swim, Ladeeez Newd (non wet suit category), and to John Forster for swimming both the B and B and again at Mona Vale. Conditions were a bit rough.
