On mornings such as
this, a favourite stanza comes to mind:
Let us roll all our strength, and all
Our sweetness, up
into one ball;
And tear our
pleasures with rough strife
Thorough the iron
gates of life.
Thus, though we
cannot make our sun
Stand still, yet we
will make him run.

In the early
morning sun The Point welcomes the new day. Today it marked the meeting place for 114
swimmers who had gathered their strength to throw off the bedclothes and head down to the surf.

A day of sadness and
joy; sad that Chrissy Amphlett, one of the most amazing women of rock has
passed, but total joy with the news that Jules Mackin is now 5 years cancer
free. She plans to celebrate by doing an Ironman race.

The best place to be
early morning in autumn is gathering with the B&B under the clubhouse
awning.

Even managed to capture some of the early lappers taking the sun post-swim.

There were few waves to disrupt the easy entry into the water, which at a balmy 22 degrees is welcoming especially if you are not quite awake.

See how we make sure everyone knows which way to go. . .!

Conditions were perfect crossing the bay.

All is calm at Shelly.

. . . but not for long!

Best of friends 🙂

So wonderful to share this morning with you. It really was a day to celebrate the joy of being with friends.
See you soon.
Mary
For the diary . . .
Anzac Day this Thursday. Our remembrance gathering will take place
prior to the swim at 7 AM. Gather on the
sand in front of the ramp, and as a large group is expected, do arrive early,
make your way to the sand so that the crowd is less congested on the walkway.
SAVE the date for the next B&B Dinner on May 7 at
Bluewater. Great value meal of $20 and
all the fun you can have out of the water. . . within reason that is. Meal kicks off at 6.30pm.
With the autumnal chill picking up, make a B&B Hoodie part of your wardrobe. Check out the merchandise on the website.
Also, $10 gets you a Bold&Beautiful discount card
….discounts range from $2 coffees from Bluewater to discounts on a present
from Pearls De Tahiti. Just show your B&B discount card! (you can get these
cards from ..Lesley any morning down at the swim)

Simon, thanks for posing with Lesbutt. Jules was worried you two had a tiff. But clearly there’s still plenty of chemistry between you two!

We discussed alternatives and ‘Young Jane’ won out:-) And that was ‘our speedy pace’…not sure what ‘speecy pace’ is….maybe ‘spaced out pace’ for me. See you’ve dropped the ‘slow’ – must be the new rashie 🙂

As usual Mary, you have captured the magic of the morning perfectly – in pictures and words. Thanks for getting out of bed for us. First photo is a strong contender for Photo of the Week!

Mary: gorgeous blog, and great quote from a great poem – so inspirational for today, yet written so long ago. (Andrew Marvell: To His Coy Mistress).
