The energy at the start of the ” lets go” from Shelly back with the Drinky Express!!
John doing the “water temp check” at 6.30am. 18.8
Water temperature is 18.8 degrees today
80 people and beautiful clear water. Lots of fish.
The wait at Shelly for the gang to arrive…..
A happy Jo at Shelly…
The 6am early swimmers on their return.
How are you going with your summer goals? Have you made a start?
I did my second “double” today and am loving it, out with the “drinks express at 6.30am and the back to the point just before the JK special. I know Deanna has done a couple of “doubles too”, just tuning up for the summer trophy hunt. 6km and 10km swims…
Let us know how your progress is coming along, so we can inspire each other.
As head scientist at the Natal Sharks Board in Durban, South Africa, Geremy Cliff runs the South Africa’s shark attack file, where his duty is to archive all shark attacks on humans. His work also broaches the ecological impact of the shark netting program on populations of sharks and other marine species. Geremy is coming to Australia at the request of the NSW Government to attend the NSW DPI Shark Summit, and has agreed to give a private lecture to B&B members and friends on Monday 28th September at 7.00 pm at the Balgowlah RSL. Don’t miss this one off opportunity to hear a world expert on sharks and shark attacks. Geremy’s lecture is titled:
“Sharing the sharks’ ocean: some personal perspectives after 35 years of shark research”
Entry fee for the lecture is $10 pp to cover room hire. The bar will be open for drinks, and the bistro is open from 5.30 pm for meals. All welcome, but please email Ian to reserve your place (ugoboyo@gmail.com).
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.
Have a fantastic day, Jenny :))

all that stirred up water with swimmers approaching Shelly! A great swim. I am still working on head position. I saw the swimmer doing butterfly today and I think he did a double. Great technique
