What a morning down in our favourite corner of the world. Admittedly I can only count my swims this winter on two hands, but gosh it’s good to get down for a dip.
And I’ll tell you this… in my bones, I can feel 22 degree water coming in the next few weeks. Watch this space. In the meantime.. yeah bit chilly!
Here is the official temp. I’m glad I missed the 15 degree day. Mind you, I have been reading about these Europeans who have become obsessed with cold open water swimming (through winter), including in the Sepentine in London’s Hyde Park. I cant image the cold, or swimming through all that duck poo. www.serpentineswimmingclub.com for those interested.
I welcomed Alex back from his trip overseas… turns out he has been back for 3 weeks. I need to swim more. He also claims he got me this morning after leading the whole way back. Truth is I stood up first but it was a bit deep so had to keep on swimming in which time he got the lead back… well that’s my story and I am sticking to it.
This is Elise. You can get all your financial news from her daily on ABC News24. Or you can ask her at the swim questions like “tulips up or tulips down?”
Cumbo! One of Manly’s finest.
Pete – leads the pointy end of the middle of the pack.
Shaun and Adam. One builds em, the other sells em. Can you guess which?
I believe before the swim (or maybe after) tomorrow there will be a short memorial for Greg who passed away recently. Reading some of the stories in the Manly Daily about him, I had no idea what a full life he had lived. I used to love his slightly warbly rendition of the Last Post each ANZAC day. He will be missed.
Finally, my daughter did a very fine picture of our house at preschool. Well done Hope. Love Daddy.
See you in September… or maybe once or twice before…
The Bishop.
