2/11/2013 – Oh, hazy daze

02/11/20138

It was a hazy start to the morning and started off a little overcast but quickly changed by the time we got to the point.  The smoke was starting to engulf us.

This was actually how the morning started.  So beautiful and clear.

Some of the early lappers take to the waters.

Run FiFi run. The drinky’s express has left.

There is an unusually high amount of dead wildlife at the moment.  It seems to be everywhere that I look.  What is going on…..

Nooooo, not Surly

Ian welcomes the newbies. As you can see the smoke starting to roll on in.

Ted is a lucky man in between Elaine & Sarah.

JP & Dorset. What’s that your are hiding behind your back Dorset???

3/4’s of the Denton Clan.  Leevena, Shaun & Nicola

I always love watching people try to avoid getting wet for as long as possible.  At least they are still smiling while getting smashed by the small waves.  Cheyenne & Nathan

Priceless. These are things Mastercard can’t buy.

I love the colours in the sky with the smoke starting to give a warm but eerie feeling.  Cheyenne, Nathan, Lara & Felicity

The colours in the sky almost make the water appear to the warmer than it actually is.

Almost there.  I had to keep stopping today to take a look at the sky changing colour.  I’ve never seen it look like this before.

Random shot of Nick checking out his photos.  Looks like Richard Lacey has spotted me.  Can you spot him with his creepy, sorry cheeky grin on his face? Apologies to the guy wiping his nose. Yes it does get runny out here in the ocean.

Ian introducing the new way we do “Lets go”.  We have two starts.  One for the racing swimmers and one for the ones who love to take in all of the scenery.

And they are off…

This is how the others swim.  Lay back and take it all in.  The smoke now appears to be taking over.  There were no fresh breaths to be had in between strokes today.

The smoke has now taken over and the view is limited which make a huge difference to visibility in the waters.  Apparently there are fires in the Hawkesbury.

Me with my sister-inlaw Felicity and sister Lara after the swim today.

and now a few underwater shots from yesterday

Sparkles

Sparkles diving in the deep.

Some glasses and a comb has been left behind today.  If you own them can you contact Ian Forster on 0412 331 530 or see him next time you are going for a swim.

Now game time.  Guess my secret is out,  I have come out of the closet…….  I am actually a dag/geek and I am proud of it!!  Puzzles are great for the mind so here is another for you.  There are 10 differences in these photos.  The bottom one has been modified.  Can you spot all ten?

    Great blog Renae!
You ticked all the boxes – smiling swimmers, dead animals, lost and found with Ian.. and to top it all off, a puzzle!
How thick was that smoke on the way back!
