21/10/2012 – Smokin’ !

21/10/201211

206 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

Had a smokin’ good start to their day !

Rob had his gorgeous children in tow, who were our mascots for this morning’s swim.  They walked along the foreshore, waving whilst we swam 🙂

It was just beautiful out there.  Look, right there !

A whole lotta lovin’

But still enough space to find some quiet time alone if that’s what you’re after 😉

Not sure who was happiest to have James along for a 7 o’clock swim.  James, his beautiful wife Nicolee or the rest of us 🙂

It really was smokin’ this morning, look at that haze !  So was the Continental Drift… it had some real steam behind it with that pull to Shelly at the point 😉

I’m sure I could taste bacon chips the whole way across the bay this morning.  What was that boat cooking up for brekkie ?

Plenty of time to enjoy all the camaraderie at Shelly

Before the race back to coffee

Not everyone was in a rush however, 18 swimmers continued on for a double lap including Rainer for his virgin double crossing.  Sometimes two’s just not enough, so 5 of them tripled, including Jon for his first.

Only a few pretty little Jimbles left their pretty little marks on a couple of swimmers.

The gorgeous, point resident, Estuarine Catfish with his beautiful big blue eyes was out on full view.

Along with this poor Stingaree with an ouchie on his wing 🙁

Showing me that he can still camouflage himself just as well though, phew !

A Flathead taking flight

and a real little Cutie !

All in all another cracker of a swim !

Talking of cute… Things are really heating up really for our Trivia Night !  Only 2 more sleeps to go now 🙂

We’ve got Mr Looking Good !

Mr not quite so comfy at looking good

and The Wiggles, all struggling to wait the 2 days, 7 hours and 30mintues until the fun begins.

More sensational prizes are still rolling in !!  Pauline kindly donated these beautiful turquoise beads that she had made for the silent auction.  Seems Anna’s got her eye on them already 😉

To check out all the sensational prizes and their very generous donors, please check out the website here   As new prizes come in we add them to the lists, so please keep on lookin’ !

More great action from this morning caught on camera by Simon, including a Port Jackson Shark and Big Blue at the Bower, as well as Roberto’s come back swim 🙂

I don’t know how Simon managed to get such clear shots when he can’t even manage to go for a swim with out stopping for a tipple…

Some more lovely photos of this morning captured by Stephen, including this beautiful panoramic view taken at Shelly.

How stunning is the water !

And last, but not least for today are some belated ‘blog tarting’ photos captured by Simon from both Friday and Saturday’s swims.

Happy birthday to David Brocherie today !

OMG, Possibly the worst pic anyone has ever taken of me.
And yes folks, for the record, Linda entered the water and promptly got out before she she reached the point (no need to tick then Lin as that swim didnt count).
‘Jimble’ is indeed a powerful word and the master of many people.

Dear ‘So Lonely’, stick with us ‘all the way’ next time, then all your problems will be solved:-)
Rainer and I were invited by the boat-owner to come aboard for a rest and refreshments on the 2nd lap, but we valiantly swam on to make it back for that rather LSD-ish-looking breakfast….
Izzy, remember you’re joining our leisurely flipperless swim tomorrow!

Little Sarah, thanks for talking me into my virgin double this morning. Conditions were perfect. Almost felt like we should have gone for that tripple in the end!
In fact, i loved it so much, lets start ‘Double Sundays’ from now on!
Elaine, thanks for the pink wig.. the wife found it in my swim bag later on. Had some explaining to do. Dont think she quite buys the whole ‘i’m going for a swim’ story anymore..

    Have to agree with Lesley!
    But also – What Jimbles???

  • Linda

    21/10/2012 at 3:23 pm

Hey of course it is more important that i look good but although I wussed out i did swim to the point dodged some nasty jimbles, played in the waves with the oldies and ran to the pipe and back.
