What an amazing start to the day. Clear blue skies and clearer waters. If you are not managing to get up to see the sunrise these days here is a shot this morning. Only two more weeks to go before daylight savings then we can swim morning and night. 😉
Just a reminder about meeting at the point. We have noticed lately that the meeting place is almost stretching to shelly. A few of you, not saying any names have been creepying slowly closer towards shelly. If you find that you are a slower swimmer you are best to keep swimming through to shelly so that we can all meet up in fasionable time. This is important to remember during the winter months as it can be cold waiting for everyone at Shelly. For all of you other swimmers, (impatient) did I say that out loud, please make sure that you meet at the point. If you are unsure as to where that is, I am sure that Lesley, Ian or John K will be more than happy to help you or reprimand you especially the Baginator.
If you haven’t ventured out of the water to see what else Manly has to offer, it’s a nice walk along the Jellyfish Track from the top of Shelly Beach Car Park up to North Head & back. It’s an amazing time of year to take a bush walk with all of the flowers out.
This flag says it all. (Manly Surf Club) Manly is such a special place and has become a second home for many of us. So far I haven’t found any place I would rather be.
Some of our swimmers take their swimming very seriously while others are just happy to get out there.

Some of us come swimming just for the cuddles. Especially in winter. There is always someone who misses out. Poor Vanessa & Ian, where our cuddles.
Nick teasing Lauren & Jaz with the teddy bear as Shaun wasn’t there to taunt them as usual. We wouldn’t want them to miss out on their Saturday Ritual.
Wilf getting ready for his swim.
The family outing. What a great way to start the morning. Hello England.
Show us how it is done Toni..
Lesley always so hesitant to put her hands in the water. Loves doing the Thriller.
Go Teddy.
You are not meant to be blogtarting while swimming Cara.
Wilf & Rainer
Nigel was looking a little cold this morning…
Not sure who this is but it’s a nice shot…
There was an amazing swarm of fish this morning. Elaine & I were mezmerised by them swimming in circles around us. Did you see them?
Elaine with the fish.
and finally our little Puffa fish. We found their home.

As you know, Sunday is the James Pittar swim from Shelly Beach. Lee Cooper has informed us that only 48 swimmers will be allowed to swim with James to North Steyne. All who swim should be registered first. You will not be able to show up on the day.
(see below for more info)
Charity Events:
This Sunday let’s join James Pittar (the blind marathon swimmer) on a swim from Shelly beach to North Steyne!!! He will be swimming from Long Reef and is expected into Shelly around 11.30am. Once he arrives there we jump in with him and continue up to North Steyne Surf Club. Where there will be a delicious BBQ and refreshments!
James is raising money for the Fred Hollows Foundations
A big group of Bold and Beautiful swimmers joined him last year so let’s do it again this year!

Renae, that was a really fantastic blog and reminds us what a special place we live in. How lovely showing the wildflowers too!Funny, I was swimming along back from Shelly wondering where the fish were and we experienced 2 bits of ‘magic’, the circulating, huge school of mullet and the nursery ground of the ‘puffa’ fish! Always something special to be seen on our swims! (And the cuddles and people are ahhhmazing too ;))
