21/07/2012 – Jimble Free

21/07/20128

108 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

There was a little wave and almost no jimbles for this morning’s surprisingly beautiful swim.  There were a few people who nearly didn’t come down due to the dark clouds, but they sure were happy they did, it was lovely !!!

Most people ventured out through the surf

Although a few of us chose the peaceful option and went from half way beach, but not before taking in the beautiful view of everyone gathered together at the point 🙂

Regardless of the conditions, two things are always guaranteed; a lot of splash

and a whole heap of beautiful smiles

Yeh, pretty happy that’s another swim done towards that winter badge 🙂

Some people will go to any lengths, taking what ever precautions are necessary, to get their badge !! Fair enough too 🙂

There were a few waves to ride back to shore for those that chose

Plus a bit of modelling to be had at our all important apres swim at Bluewater 🙂

Simon also took a beautiful selection of photos for us this morning, starting with the start

Through to the 10 swimmers who enjoyed a double lap.

Plus one of our swimmers, Candy Bingham, who has started her impressive campaign as one of the candidates for Mayor of Manly.

58 swimmers have now qualified for their winter badge so far !  With another 295 on target and another 169 who need to swim soon to make sure they don’t miss out… To check out which category you’re in click here

If you would like to get your winter badge this year but you haven’t done one winter swim yet you must swim tomorrow !!  As after tomorrow there are only 6 weeks of winter left !!!  To qualify you need to swim a total of 20 times over a minimum of 7 different weeks of winter.  You don’t need to miss out, come and swim tomorrow 🙂

Bluewater are loving having us all for Brekkie after our swim every morning, however they have asked me to bring to your attention that they assign designated staff to our tables each morning to help the kitchen process our coffees and breakfasts.  So to help ensure all Bluewater customers have a good experience every morning, Bluewater have requested that to take advantage of our B&B special brekkie menu we have to sit on our designated tables, which is at the front of the restuarant during the week, and at the back tables on weekends, thank you.

Water Temperature 18.0

That’s some seriously big feet in first photo!? 🙂 Or is it just angle of shot? Can’t believe I slept thru my alarm (my cat jumping on me) and missed the swim 🙁 Candy has my vote… You should see what she has planned for Manly..very exciting!

Ahem! Those feet belong to a very good friend of mine and yes they are big, but I suspect the angle of the shot has them close and magnified! That was actually a dive to retrieve a PINK HAT from the bottom – there was no head inside it fortunately.
Sharon and Jules are modelling well, but the angle has prevented us seeing any of their badges!! See, photo angles are important Lesley.
And yes Candy’s ideas for Manly are exciting, particularly the pool on the harbour side. Its refreshing to be able to know exactly what a candidate IS standing for. Candy’s web page is brilliant.

Great pictures, as usual.. and the water seems to get warmer and warmer!
Little Sarah – so sorry for letting you down last few days. I caught a very stubborn cough and had to put swimming on hold to make sure i’m fit for my Thailand next week. I’ll be back at B&B from 3rd of August, by which time you’re probably in HK. Hope to see you back soon!!!

The most exciting part of Candy’s plans are Hot Showers for the ladies at the South Steyne changing rooms:-) I think she knows how to get our votes.

Rainer, sorry to hear about your cough (a fair bit of it around, it seems) and hope you recovered from your jimble stings.
Have a great trip and see you back beginning of Oct when I look forward to resuming our great swimming partnership! (Today my enthusiastic partner was 15yr old Jack seen smiling in one of the pics)
