21 November 2018 – This and That

21/11/20188

Happy Wednesday All

Bit of a gloomy morning down at Manly but the rain stopped just in time for us to jump in the water and have a nice morning swim.

Ian providing some morning wisdom to us all from his recent trip to India. Highlight of his trip was seeing the close connection between the street dogs and the homeless people of India. Well done for not getting sick!

Have Your Say! Northern Beaches Council were down at the surf club this morning getting everyones opinions on development of the surf club and how it can be better improved.

A few of the suggestions written on the board were:

  • More outdoor showers for swimmers
  • Fix the pinch point
  • Commercial sponsorship
  • Community focus not commercial
  • Keep the historic character

Good luck to the council trying to please everyone

Jo has progressed from Ugg boots to thongs to now singular thong. Hope she doesn’t walk around in circles today.

Sue used to come down and watch her friends swimming as she was too scared of waves and sharks but now she is up and at it for early morning swimming. Good inspiration for all those that are thinking about getting involved in the swim! Keep up the great work Sue.

Roz & Mikaila – mother and daughter swimming duo.

Mel with 2 second time swimmers. Great to see you guys back in the ocean.

Liv weaving some leaves this morning into a piece of artwork.

This wins the prize for coolest tattoo! Although Em didn’t see an eagle ray in the water this morning she’s always got this awesome tat to look at.

Laura has just started to learn Auslan (Australian sign language) and is off to teach it in Cobar next year. She can be seen saying hello in this picture. Good luck Laura – what an amazing experience.

Mik spotted wearing The Heart of Te Fiti this morning – a symbol of the creation of ocean and land (from Disney’s Moana)

All swimmers and partners/friends are welcome (no under 18s unfortunately). The theme is simply “Christmas”, so come dressed in your finest Christmas paraphernalia. The music this year will again be provided by the band, “Gluteus Maximus”, who play two types of music, Rock and Roll! The cost is $15 per head, with all proceeds going to the running costs of the B&B. Book now! Don’t miss out on this fun event, as numbers are limited. Book HERE now!

On the night, Royal Far West will be running a monster raffle and auction. Last year, this raised over $4000 for their important programs for disadvantaged kids. There will be fantastic items up for grabs, so be prepared to bid hard. Royal Far West have requested if you have any valuable items to donate for the auction or raffle, that you contact Desiree (desireec@royalfarwest.org.au), who will be co-ordinating the event for RFW.

Great blog Murray and Babewatch. Great to have you helping out for the Wednesday blog. Interesting info about what’s going on in and around the B&B. Edwina might be getting herself one of those Eagle Ray tattoos, she loves them!
