21 June 2015 – Winter solstice

21/06/20156

Mornin’ all. MEFF inner westies here. Yes, it was cold this morning …7 degrees. But the water was warm … 18-19ish. There are too few hours today – being the shortest day of the year – so the dedicated BnBers made the most of every minute! Activities included wetsuit wrangling, shivering, posing, congratulating, and a bit of swimming. Photos below reveal all.

Let’s set the mood with lovely photos from Marie and Fi1.

Getting a wetsuit on and off are truly the most unglamorous activities and ideally shouldn’t be done in public. None of us care. Here are some wetty wrangling shots and a few posing shots too…!

Mornin’ Will !

And celebration – Bruce made the big 1,000 kms today – yeah BB – here’s to the next 1,000!

Here’s the best cosy of the week. Lovely lady covered in ants.

And the after swim shot. Gorgeous water. Makes you want to get back in!

TTFN.

End of blog bits – be safe. Swim with someone. Read the B&B website water safety article.

Love the Wetty Wrangling shot and all the others…. so much nicer in the water than out….until it’s apres swim time which is the best part of the day but only really works when one has had that swim….:)

Emma, as the voice of the MEFF inner westies, you captured our random thoughts & chatter just perfectly.

Hi Jason, thank you much for saving my white goggles from the great goggle grave off the point yesterday, and thank you Elizabeth for facilitating their return.

The wrangling into wet suits looks so hard. Now that winter solstice has been and gone, everyone should give the wetsuits up. Much easier
