Not a great deal of good news today with a lowish tide on the rise and the dregs of the easterly swell being mixed with a rising SSE wind-swell at 1-1.5 metres and the occasional bigger set. However great news that there were no blueys or other nasty bitey critters around.
Grey and a bit dismal but a fun crowd turned up.
With a strong RIP it was a quick swim out.
A headwind to Shelley.
Terry and his Swedish friend arrived early at Shelley to avoid the crowd.
And the Bishops birthday.
It prompted an early lets go
With a tailwind we raced home.
Have a great day.
Brian

Royal Far West
Royal Far West was delighted last year with the response of B&B swimmers to their request for assistance with their activity programs. This year RFW is looking for volunteers to help with their beach games on Wednesday afternoon 3
Help Wanted
B&B would like assistance with data entry for our mailing list. Due to the increasing number of newbies, our hard-working data entry volunteers have become seriously overworked. So if you have a computer and a spare hour each week or fortnight to enter names and emails into our database, can you please contact Ian on ugoboyo@gmail.com.
And
Here is the link to the documentary made by the German TV crew. The part on B&B starts about 5.5 minutes in.

Also,
A friend of a B&B’er is organising the Manly Inflatable Boat Race 2018 on Sunday 25th February. All proceeds are going to Tour de Cure. Surf life savers are lined up for the day.
However help is needed with the following roles:
Blowing up inflatables
Selling raffle tickets
Helping set up tents, setting up posts and tape to section off areas
Helping clean up at the end
Ideally 10-20 volunteers are needed.
Contact details are: Dee Montague-Jones Tel: 0403 864 947.

Nice blog, it was a good swim today. I was lucky enough to see Layne Beachley catch a few waves after our Breaky. She was enjoying the swell.

Thanks Brian. There were dangerous conditions today and I hope all B&Bers keep in mind that conditions can change in an instant. One minute it looked placid and the next minute massive waves were building way off the point. Certainly after the double it was a completely different seascape. At that stage, with some incredulity we saw the flags were out but later noticed they had been removed. Anyway swimming back to half-way from the point was no easy task. Something to keep in mind.
