141 Bold and Beautiful swimmers this morning including 4 newbies….3 of which were from Dr John’s Harem of Women! 😉 Temp was 20.2
Before I get on with the blog can I make a suggestion regarding all your gear!!
Please put your name inside EVERYTHING! Even your caps!!
Every morning quite a bit is left behind (an easy thing to do if you are in a rush) and there is NO lost property basket etc. In the case of goggles they are usually given to Ian but he has SO many lost ones now it’s ridiculous! ALSO I spoke to the senior life guard as he was packing away the tables – I asked him what does he do with stuff left behind? He reluctantly pointed to the wheelie bin! YES!
If you have your name inside all your gear it would be soooo much easier! Today I found a pair of goggles, budgies and swim shorts and a black jumper, 1 ear plug, a nappy and a baby’s dummy – fortunately the nappy/dummy was claimed by Brad but the rest! what do i do with it??
Back to the blog! Below all the earlies – so many now I wonder if they will start their own blog?? 😉
A gorgeous day!! YAY! Sunny and warm!
BELOW – Look who’s back! Yes it’s Peta – see red arrow!! Great to see her….
…just kidding of course – No the WORLD famous Lips has returned to the swim after about a month off due to a extremely small scratch he has on his earlobe which made it very difficult for him to swim. Famous? Yes if you search ‘jimble’ in google images – his face comes up – currently rated 4th! (a clue to where he got his nickname!)
Below is the actual reason he has been away – “the big, stairs accident” that we are not allowed to mention – it’s really clearing up well though! 😉
Sue’s curls are SO strong one bust through her tough silcon cap!
Below – red arrow – this was the last time Bella’s bikini top was seen in tact – apparently the very gentle almost non existant waves huge surf ripped her top off on the way back in!
Now I am guessing, THAT cap won’t stay on long! 🙂
Action shot of Renae!
The lovely sun joined us!!
Me with Jo at Shelly – he is wearing his Gopro as he is making a film for work called ‘how I start my day’ …Of course his swim with BnB featured heavily! 😉
AND THAT is all for today! Not sure where all my other photos got to! Signing off: Lesbubbles

Bnb team up with Ocean Care Day – Sunday 1st December!
Cabbage Tree bay where we swim every day is pretty unique – there are not many places like it in the world – especially so near to a big city!! So please say thanks ‘for having us everyday’ by teaming up with Manly Environment Centre’s 20th annual Ocean Care Day and doing a “Clean-up the Bay” swim on Sunday 1st December. Anyone who wants to participate is asked to bring a net bag (or simply stuff your cossie) with whatever rubbish you find during our regular 7am Sunday morning swim. We’ll pile it up before distributing it to rubbish bins to see how much we collect!
There are no official prizes for who collects the most, but we know our fishy friends will be grateful (as will every environmentally savvy person who appreciates the treasure we have in our beautiful bay). Stick around to enjoy the festivities. Go this link for more information / full schedule: CLICK HERE

Apparently there was a Tornado on Monday that started in Manly! (my guess it was actually caused by all the gas-bagging BnB’ers do after the swim!)
Read more HERE
A resident filmed it !! See here

B&B “Mad Hatters” Christmas Party
The B & B “Mad Hatters” Christmas Party will be held on Tuesday 3rd December at 6.30 pm in the Moonshine Bar (2nd Floor) at the Steyne Hotel. All swimmers and partners/friends are welcome (no under 18s unfortunately). Wear your craziest hat or other headwear. No need to be shy as we will have the whole bar to ourselves. Finger food will be provided and drinks will be at bar prices. Lots of fun and dancing are guaranteed, with a band featuring one of our very own swimmers. Come along to find out who it is. The cost is $10 per head, with all proceeds going to the running costs of the B&B. Don’t miss out. Bookings are essential. Book HERE now so you don’t miss out!
B&B Attendance Login App
The B&B Attendance Login App is the perfect way to avoid queues!! Log your swim (only if you did swim), between 5am and 9am for the easy way to ensure your swim is recorded in the daily attendance and on the Pacific Challenge.
To get started, please send an email to Ian Forster (ugoboyo@gmail.com) requesting to have your account activated. Ian will then send you info on how to get started. No badge, but bragging rights for being an early adopter. Happy ticking.
Badges, badges and more badges!!
Summer Badge season is just a couple of weeks away!! The sign of a committed ocean swimmer is a B&B 6km or 10km Summer Badge. The 6km swims take place every Saturday in summer. The first 10km swim is proposed to be held on 14 December.
Have Fun more with the Pacific Challenge
Our website guru, Magnus Butlin has developed a fun new page which shows a different take on the Pacific Challenge. The new page shows each swimmer’s progress over the last week (or fortnight/month/two months) in terms of their position on the leader board.
The bumps chart can be accessed from the Pacific Challenge page via a button in the top right hand corner. Take a look and see how many people you have passed in the Pacific Challenge in the last few weeks:
http://www.faulconbridgesoftware.com/bb/pub/bumps.htm
The ‘divisions’ listed are the columns currently shown on the Pacific Challenge page. At this stage, only the first five columns (300 swimmers) are shown.
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

Great Blog Lesley. Thanks for the lovely pic of me jumping through the waves. Loved the Tornado video too, as I hadn’t heard about it. It was amazing to watch.
See you tomorrow.

Love the blog as always – including your silly/funny art work.
Always an entertaining start to my day.
It was a beautiful morning, especially compared to how’s it’s been. Swimming with a hangover after seeing John Butler live last night made it slightly harder!

Fun blog Lesbubbs, loved it! What a change in conditions. Hope it keeps up for tomorrow, my blog day especially as I always boast about Thursdays being the best!
Still think we should try and keep aside a bit of money to buy Lesley a camera, the new Olympus Tough TG 2 which most bloggers have (and pay for themselves.) Lesley does a lot behind the scenes and is always there to blog if people can’t. what do you think?
Thanks for posting the tornado vid!

Hilarious blog, Lesley!
Great idea about name labels – we’re just like the school kids who need them!
Perhaps we could also gently suggest to Mark that the surf club put out a couple of bins each day for B&B left-overs – one for dry gear and one for wet gear.
Then once a fortnight or once a month, the contents could be put out on the wall for a general ‘help-yourself’, as probably not much use to Far West!

Definitely agree we should buy Lesley the best state-of-the-art camera – an incentive for all other bloggers to reach her amazing 10,000 blog record (well, probably still behind Jules in the Blogger Table, but must be close!)

Thanks for finding/fondling B-rad’s undergarments and saving them from the wheelie bin, Lesbutt!! Who knows what back catalogue, elastic-lacking number he’d have to wear if he lost his BB budgies!! Miaow xx
