Today’s tech issue was… no battery in the camera! Thanks to Rog and Lainey for saving the day.. again.

What better way to start your birthday than with a swim, Peter said.

It was also Andrew’s birthday today, here with his wife Juliette. They are regulars at the swim from Normanhurst, and sometimes come with their children who I used to teach to swim!

4 bikes making a break for it on the sand. Anyone know what the benefit on cycling on the sand is?
Nicci is just back from 8 weeks in the UK, mentoring 2 swimmers successfully across the channel- Victor 15hrs 14min and Emma 10hr 52mins. I’ve been to her Bluewater dinner speech and heard lots of talk about big swims like this, but still can’t comprehend the logistics that must go into it.
Anna Wintour in Manly? No, our own Claude, and Pierre’s mum! Over here for 2 months – swapped her apartment in Paris for one in Manly. Pierre, who did the English channel earlier this year, arrived in Belfast yesterday in preparation for a crossing of the North Channel.

Thank you Emma! Murray used to teach our boys to swim – I didn’t know that you did too! But hopefully we’ll have Barney back doing 6.30am Wednesday before school soon – if not tomorrow, then at least next Wednesday :). For such a big boofy boy he has a remarkable fear of sharks…
Btw, it was so cold this morning that I saw two stingrays snuggled up at the point – there seemed be general agreement that it had to be colder than 16.9! Lovely visibility though.
