20/08/2017 Lost camera in the bay

20/08/20173

Yes, that’s right. Today’s blog had the potential to be a gold star, award winning blog. It had everything – beautiful sunrises, fantastic wave action, happy smiling swimmers, perhaps a couple of dolphins, a whale and a photo scoop or two….but I lost my camera, mid swim, complete with most of today’s photos on it!

Today’s blog now comes re-created with a couple of pre swim Iphone snaps and a couple kindly lent by Edwina after hearing my plight.

After the cool temperatures of Saturday ….we were all waiting to see what today, would bring. Thank fully it had creeped up to 17.1 degrees. Balmy!

Shaun and Ian were my greeting party as I turned up this morning.

Nice to see Michael (aka Thunderbird) back this morning, trying to keep warm with some additional facial hair.

About 200 swimmers joined the rocking and rolling swim today, including three newbies. Georgia and Gretta above joined us for the first time. When asked ‘Why swim with us?’ Georgia let me know that a combination of training for the Noosa triathlon, moving to the area and being paranoid about sharks (so swimming in a group gave comfort) were all reasons why the two joined today.

And then this was my last Iphone photo before I switched to me camera….

Next up were photos, of

JK letting us know that the waves were deceiving today and there are other options,

photos of people walking to Half Way

photos of people against the waves at Half Way steps

photos of English channel swimmer Brendan and Rainer (no special title)

photos of people arriving at Shelly (these are good arent they?)

Photos of Pauline and I tackling the waves at Shelly……..

Half way across the bay my Olympus TG4 decided to float off to never never land, complete with a yellow Scubapro lanyard…….the visibility in the bay today was zero – so no chance of seeing it!

Kindly lent pics from Edwina ……

Despite losing the camera – I still enjoyed the swim today, I hope you did too.

IF ANYONE FINDS MY CAMERA (V SLIM CHANCE I KNOW) PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY TEXT 0424 032 252, OR HAND TO JOHN KELLY OR IAN AT ANY SWIM – KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED.
As usual – its actually the photos on it I will miss, the camera can be replaced, the photos sadly not.

B&B Badge info: (be quick!)

    Oh no Sharon
Hopefully it’ll be found when the water clears. Depending on which credit card you used to make the purchase try asking the card supplier for insurance. I assume it was less than 3 mths old.😎
Btw thanks for today’s update blog, you let me see how the swim panned out, perfect, again.
