20/03/14 – Wobbegongs, Wonderful People, Warm Water and a Wicked Sunrise!

20/03/201414

After a week of choppy and unclear water it was flat, warm, smooth with amazing visibility again today. Krystina described it as a ‘fish extravaganza!’ You have to swim with us now before it gets cold. It’s simply stunning! The sunrises are to die for too!

The Drinks Express head out under dramatic skies again…

Miles is not only in training for swimming the English channel he is swimming for hours for Autism on Saturday with a few other B&Bers.

One new swimmer today, Zeeta from Manchester. So many Pommies love our swim and appreciate swimming in this aquatic paradise.

Silhouetted swimmers at this time of year with sunrise on 7am…

I didn’t expect to see it so clear this morning. Just swimming out to The Point there were catfish, luderick, gropers and the usual stingray.

And another wondrous creature appears… Shady Shaun who used to be known as Dolphin Whisperer until he lost his title to… Lainey Loo (well Silky swam with me 3 times ;-))

Now if Lips has been influenced by The Hoff (read Lesbutt’s hilarious blog yesterday if not sure what I’m on about) and Storchy, Elton John…What celebrity from the 80’s did Shauny try and copy?

Another lovely apparition at The Point as I bump in to Annie, Bella and Rusty returning after an early swim. (SC photo bomb) The sky is beautifool!

Who is this Greek Godly like creature??

Lovely Jenny Knapman modelling her new swimmers in the gorgeous clear water.

Shelly Beach has just been voted Sydney’s favourite beach. No wonder we love swimming to it!

After being diverted at The Point by the lovely people and amazing sky, it’s another scramble out the rocks and run around to catch you all at Shelly. These gorgeous yellow stripeys were just at the rocks as I climbed out!

One of our most shy swimmers, Toni J, strikes her Marilyn pose before she guides a few of us to the wobbegongs. She found 3 wobbies inbetween Shelly and the pool today!

Her new name is WW or ‘Wobbie Whisperer’…

Here is Lesbubbles showing us the ‘keep 30 metres distance from the marine life rule’!

So awesome seeing that huge school of yellowtail in the shallows at Shelly…

Wobbegongs below

More sharks! (Friendly ones) The Port Jackson are back!

So many more old wives than last year.

Stephen, Krystina, Nick and I were in awe at the aquarium like conditions just off The Point.

Even a crimson banded wrasse let me take a photo of him today.

A hug to finish the Thursday blog. Have a great day folks!

Do you fancy being part of the World’s Largest Boxing Fitness Class?

Well you can! (Just like last year’s Guy Leech biggest fitness workout)

This Sunday 23rd March @ The International College of Management, Manly

www.boxingworldrecord.guyleech.com

They are trying to get 1000 people registered before the big event so they’d really appreciate your help. At the last couple of record attempts they had quite a few B&B folks join them on the beach.

They’re also linking the world record attempt to the project ‘one billion stronger’, which is about empowering women and girls in developing countries. Here is the link to a video on youtube about our recent project in India:

I saw fish today while swimming as well as in the blog. It is good to have the names so thanks Elaine. The swim was just lovely. How did you get the yellow tail to pose so neatly! Another lovely blog to keep the good swim feelings going

I left my blue long sleeved rashie, silicon cap and goggles behind on one of the tables. Did anyone find them? Beautiful swim 🙂

Lee had her backpack pinched from under a tree early this morning. It was a purple backpack , had a towel, car keys, shampoo and conditioner.
If anyone’s finds anything similar, please see Lee.
We are looking for anyone who uses a towel and has a fetish for hair products.
    Unrelated,
    Storchy did you swim today?

Great blog pics and amazing blog … glad you sorted out the tech problems, Lainey!
Can’t believe that just as i start to recognise a PJ it’s no longer a PJ!
One of the most beautiful swims I’ve had this morning…. best company, full moon glimmering on the water, a little dark for an early double but not scary, glassy water, sunrise, fish and pink caps everywhere….

Yes Marije, I have them all and Simon’s swimmers. He rang me and I went back and found them. I’ll bring tomorrow! If anyone picked up any black goggles by mistake with 50/50 on the side they are my prescription goggles. A pair went missing Tuesday when I had a shower and last week too. 🙁

Great blog Lainey – was a bit taken aback by the sign off photo and was wondering when you’d had the plastic surgery, especially the collagen lip injections!?! Phew! Then I scrolled down and saw the lovely, unchanged Lainey and breathed a sigh of relief. Obviously another photo bomb by Lips. How does he manage it?

Such a nice blog today,Elaine! Just there to tease the tortured distant B&Bs who are stuck up in the wilds of the Blue Mountains, working in hot, sweaty classrooms etc….. makes one really look forward to the next swim. Please organise good conditions for Saturday? Have fun in the water everyone!

I would like to sincerely thank Shaun and Jim for all their help this morning – Jim for driving Rosie and myself home (sorry about the dog hair…)and returning me to my car and Shaun for babysitting my car until my return. The B&B people are very special people and I have made some very good friends over the last 4-5 years and the help I received the morning only goes to show that my B&B friends are one of a kind! Thank you once again Shaun and Jim.
