20/01/2018 – Beauty in Simplicity

20/01/20185

I’ve been thinking a lot about the beauty of simplicity lately and the merit in removing complications and drama from one’s life and just living a simple, beautiful and healthy life.

Bold & Beautiful Swim Squad is definitely a perfect complement to living a simple, healthy life and there is no better way to start the day.

620 swimmers started their day with a B&B swim this morning in beautiful water that was 21.7 degrees.

Whilst waiting for a coffee at Hakan’s this morning Holly told me she really needs three things in life to make her happy, her swimmers, goggles and cap. How right you are Holly!

Holly (brunette) and Kara (blonde) love starting their day with a B&B swim, as you can see from their gorgeous smiles.

Cam, Sterling, Kara, Jillian, JP and Mike

Murray (aka the Kid) lives a pretty simple life, he just swims fast every morning

Sterling and Eva live a simple life, they’re simply in love

Three lovely ladies who look very happy to be doing the 7am swim.

I love daddy/daughter combos like Matt and Chloe.

Peter is simply happy he is in Manly today and not in Mudgee where it’ll be 41 degrees.

Jacques is always happy

I love Katrina’s smile

Daddy (Patrick) /daughter combo

Steve and Todd

I love that these lovely ladies arrived randomly all wearing white, simply stunning (these two photos were actually taken on Wednesday).

There were 57 newbies today, here are some of them…

Elliott is simply over the moon with his new bicycle.

Jude is learning how to use his balance bike.

Milly and Zac enjoyed playing on the sand.

Keep it simple, after the swim, many B&B swimmers enjoy a coffee at the benches.

Or breakfast at Bluewater

Stats:

620 swimmers

57 newbies

21.7 degrees

Hope you all have a great day and keep it simple.

Summer 10km swim
The proposed date for the next 10km swim is Saturday 10 February at 7 am.

Swimmers are required to bring their own food/drink requirements which can be left at Manly.

The swim is dependent on suitable ocean/weather conditions.

Remember to be sensible as no badge is worth putting yourself and others in danger.

Volunteers Needed
The upcoming Cole Classic is coming to Manly and the surf club wishes to apply as many Bronze Medallion qualified lifesavers as they can to water safety. Those interested and able to help out with the running of this years event – if you can donate any time to help with beachside activities such as bag control, registrations, lost children etc.

Can you please email our own Jim Stackpool who will coordinate with the club.

email Jim – jjs@scat.com.au or talk to him during the swim.

Ask at the desk to point out Jim if you do not know him.

Shelly Beach Clean & Snorkel
Clear Tides is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2017 by Marine biology student, bold and beautiful swimmer and cabbage tree bay snorkel instructor – Jessica Brading. The mission of the organisation is to spread our love and respect for the ocean, environment and marine animals.

On Sunday 21st January, Clear Tides is holding their first ever event – SHELLY BEACH CLEAN AND SNORKEL!

Head on over to Shelly beach after your morning swim and help Jess and her team clean up our beloved bay and then head out for a snorkel after (or another swim if your game). If that’s not enough incentive… there’s free brunch!

Invite your friends and family – lets team up and support local organisations in maintaining our beautiful cabbage tree bay.

To John and Mary so many thanks for your care and support which got me through the 6 km as I was knackered. Really appreciated it and so happy to have done it for this year – and of course there’s the treasured Badge! We were a good group and in the end it was fun on a beautiful Manly day.
