This little nugget of wisdom came back to me on Friday morning, whilst staring out of the 38th Floor of Merrill Lynch waiting to be interviewed.
My somewhat reckless approach to my “career” map will render me unemployed as of next Friday and instead of berating myself as would be my default approach, I gave myself an internal hug for being so brave and ignoring conventional direction.
It was around the same time that I looked down and saw what I thought was a bit of dark fluff on my white top. Casually dusting it off, it became immediately apparent that the fluff was actually a moth, and I was now faced with a dark smudge on my left boob. In the mild panic that ensued I tried to rescue the situation with a wet thumb … Never. ever. do this.
So, my opening gambit to the Vice President on commencing the interview was “please excuse the grey mark on my chest … Blah blah moth blah blah thumb blah blah worse … So anyway moving on” … They are yet to call me back !!!!!
My bravery now wavering, I’m crying out for a map ! But in all honesty I’ve never been good at directions or decision making or sticking to plans … My life probably hasn’t panned out as perhaps it “should” in the traditional sense yet, however, and this is something I have to consciously remind myself to do, I have to congratulate myself on what I do have …
And today I will start with Shaun and Leveena ! Without who, I was close to having not swam for nearly a month. THANK YOU XX
It was a crowd of 175 with 14 newbies, and it was great to see the benches and hooks being utilized as appropriate …
I almost missed the start when the Spaniard asked me to walk with him to “look at rocks” … I felt it appropriate to remind him “this is me, Kelly … Not a tinder date!!” … He looked perplexed.
This being my first “wet” blog in a while, it’s not surprising that the view from Shelly when I finally arrived was of everyone leaving ! And by the time my frozen trotters (it was 17.6 in the water) got me back from the bower to the shower … No.1 was already dressed.
All in all, a typical day for the B&B … Except for the spy boat just off the point which I suspect was sent by the Foreign Minister to stop pirates from Melbourne.
Apologies for moths instead of fish, the and usual theme of “me me me me me”
Apologies for the mobile blog !! But the Mac hates Typepad and I can’t sit inside on such a beautiful day !
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Love
Jonesy xx

I say bahumbug to ‘the traditional sense’ and expectations for ones life. If you’d followed that you would be living in a world of boring beige Brit bastards and the likes of Stephanie No Pants. We are so enriched by having you in our mob Jones and the non-planned, non-traditional approach has landed you in one of the most special spots on earth and in a group of people many of whom love you enormously. I love your personal blogs, so dont apologise for them – keep ’em coming.

Only by scratching the surface we can realize what lies beneath, that’s how we swimmers, know well the hidden treasures and precious souls that inhabit these waters! Great blog. Llife is personal! So many unique stories sharing the same bay at the same time. Amazing experience! Well done!
