19/12/2014 – Bouncy but Beautiful

19/12/201413

Lainey here filling in for a blogger that didn’t show up and it’s going to be short! Around 120 swimmers described the swim as bouncy, beautiful and one swimmer said difficult! It was rock n rolly all the way there and back today. I have only 6 photos today.

This was our view as we battled the bumpiness across to Shelly…We love a challenging swim!

One of our oldest and most humble swimmers gets his ‘Dr Salt’, lovely Errol.

Gorgeous Annie strikes a side pose at Shelly

King Neptune and The Bachelor in between some ladies.

and one of my worst photos ever! John 007 Bond, a headless Mike, lovely lady and Lips scratching his scrote…

John is in charge of the long swims and latest news is the 6 and 10 km swims are on for tomorrow. Meet at Surf Club around 6.45!I am a zigzagging zedder swimmer and I swam 10kms last year in bad conditions and it was great! If I can do it anyone can, so give it a go! (wetsuits recommended and fins for slower swimmers)

Now as is becoming a regular habit us B&Bers are immensely grateful for the FREE activity we enjoy each morning but we do love supporting worthy causes. On Sunday there is going to be a cake stall at the benches after the swim in aid of Coastrek and the Fred Hollows Foundation. Please bring some money and support this or better still bake cakes, slices, quiche whatever and still buy! (Thanks for the fantastic protein balls today Heather btw.) Some of our swimmers including Sue McGregor above, are trecking 50kms to help restore sight. (They may need another team member too.)

Signing off

Lainey Loo xx

P.s. I think we need a blogger for alternate Fridays, please apply!

Just a very uncoordinated blog coordinator saw the lapse in coordination. . . sorry. But thank you Elaine for stepping in to fill the gap. Always great to have your sunny view of the daily swim.
And a note from one of our sponsors. Wetpatch will be at the Manly Village School Markets this Saturday for a great last minute Christmas present idea!!! Please support them for all their support.

Will there be any takers for Bolderdash in the morning? I was looking forward to ticking over my 100k with a new challenge. But not 6, yet!

In reply to Elaine’s statement above the running of the 6k and 10k swims will very much depend on conditions tomorrow.
The conditions yesterday and today have not been very favourable with strong southerly chop and large swells.
