194 pink capped swimmers cared for Cabbage Tree Bay today by picking up bits of plastic on their swim back from Shelly, saving our marine creatures from eating it by shoving it down their cozzies! The morning started off in the usual Thursday way, warm, sunny and sparkling! Look at the pink clouds reflecting off the shore. Magic!

You had to be here for sunrise this morning. It was early at 5.39am but I just about made it!

It’s Christmas time everyone…Happy Christmas!

Little Sarah was a bit late for her ‘Bolderdash Date’ with Ted and went with Bob instead!

Thank you for all you do John and Ian and ‘Merry Christmas’ to you. Great photo bomb Sabine!

Emily and Debbie head out at 6.30am and hop on The Drinks Express.

Adorable Annie joins the early swimmers too. It’s Vanessa’s last but one swim (behind with JK) before she leaves to live in Queenstown NZ tomorrow!

Meanwhile the 7am swimmers arrive. Bella brings down some of her guests staying at Kookaburra Retreat, (her holiday rental property at Oxford Falls), for a swim. It’s Glen’s first swim today along with another 19 Newbies!

Brian is happy to have both his lovely daughters swimming now school is out!

Welcome to Miguel Maestre, the celebrity chef who joined us today! Here he is with ‘Groupies’ Ed and Krystina. Underwater shot courtesy of Stephen Coulter.

Spot yourself at Shelly Beach (and the secret photo bomber that keeeps popping up like ‘Where’s Wally’!)

There were lots of bits of plastic in the water today for some reason so Ian asked us all to pick up a few bits on the swim back. The water was cloudy or as Drinky described it, ‘creamy’. Sounds much better! There were a few fish sightings though. Some people saw the dusky whaler shark from yesterday, Fifi saw a cuttlefish, Nick saw a flathead with a fish in it’s mouth!
I saw this cute friendly fish about to chomp on a piece of plastic, until I shoved it down my cozzie!

He’s a Bengali Sergeant and we could have saved his life!

Or maybe the life of a yellowtail…

As I was looking for plastic bits, a blind shark swam gracefully beneath me…

Happy Christmas from some of our regular B&Bers!

Got a great shot of diamond fish and old wives ‘having a chat’ over the white rocks near the yellow shed on Tuesday. Remember to have a look there on your swim back, there is usually a lot of marine life over there even when the water is a bit cloudy.

To finish off then…the rubbish hunt was successful. Look how much Lesbubbles managed to fit down her stinger suit!(Not as much as the lady on the right ;-))

Thank you all rubbish collectors!

Great blog Elaine!
My favourite line:
“I saw this cute friendly fish about to chomp on a piece of plastic, until I shoved it down my cozzie!”
You know it’s a no-take marine reserve, right?

Great Xmas theme – what a lot of trouble you go to for us all! Your fishy pics are just amazing too!
Wasn’t aware of a bolderdash date with Ted (or anyone else!) Just rolled up for an early Shelly and was kidnapped by Bob:-))
And btw, Bob – you ticked the WRONG SARAH on the bolderdash sheet:-) Ian, grateful if you can correct it!
