19/09/13 – Starting the day…in the best possible way…

19/09/201315

It was all happening at Manly early this morning. There were surfers, joggers, paddlers, dog walkers, boxers…and a pod of 106 pink capped swimmers all getting their dose of Vitamin Sea, work out, circulation boost and endorphin release :-)!! Our swim must tick all the boxes!

Quite a few early swimmers today. Here are the 6.30am Drinks Expressers crossing over with the 6am Lemurs.

Tui always puts a smile on everyone’s face.

And so does Bobby Binstead or ‘Binsy’ as his friends call him. His ‘friends’ said he needed a hug. (Wish they’d let him put his pants on first!)

JOHN Forster in the middle is the amazing swimmer who swam every day of Winter without a wetsuit and didn’t get sick once!

Brioney loves our swims, another Pommy convert!

And 2 dinky die Aussie regulars, Stephen Coulter and Robby Bobby Heytman!

The water is clearing up and I hoped to see the port jackson or wobbegong some saw, but only caught this aqua man.

I had a bit of a blobby lens on my camera at Shelly so photos not as good as I’d hoped and I shouldn’t have licked the lens! It makes it worse as Nick our amazing photographer/blogster reminded me!

Now this one could have been really good!

It was a bumpy ride over but a bit faster on the way back.

Blog tarts at it again!

Actually I walked to Halfway to go on a fish hunt. This interesting specimen was the only ‘creature’ that caught my eye. One half of a Port Jackson mating maybe? Or an albino eagle ray? (I think it’s just a rock!)

A mermaid at the pool?? Or Judy Cameron saying ‘Goodbye’ to Manly before she goes off to Sulawesi. (She is researching Komodo dragons off one of the Southern islands, please come back in one piece Judz!)

These girls are performing at The Boatshed on Friday night. We really must go and support them!

I catch Sparkles going around collecting hugs and get in on the action!

To finish off my quickest blog ever (had to work, not getting lazy), Sparkles with John Kelly who does so much to keep the B&B going.

Quote of the day goes to Sparkles, ‘It was FUN! And I got some LOVELY hugs!’

A big hug to you all!

Lainey Loo

Our WWW team got in The Manly Daily on Wednesday! Thanks to all who donated to Bear Cottage!

14 on the Lemur Run this morning.
It’s great to see people supporting Binsy. Thanks E-Laine.
If you see Binsy give him a hug or a handshake, God knows he deserves it!
And Binsy, thanks for your generous donation and your time given selflessly to the Lemur Foundation. The baby wide eyed Lemurs thank you.
Just to let you know, after you were forced to leave camp to travel to Sumatra for your Sumatran Tiger Insemination Program, we were able to collect 26 hatchlings and six adults from burrows you discovered the other night. I think through your generous time training us on your hand insemination processes and your financial donations we’ll be able to bring them back from the brink of extinction.
Binsy, you’re an angel! Good luck with the Sumatran Tiger, God speed on your mission!

    Great blog Lainey!
And thanks for having a soft spot for us blog tarts. Hard enough to get back into the tarting action after 1.5 weeks of sick leave. But I’m back on the blog. That’s all that counts!
Saw Sparkles speeding past me this morning. Breakneck speed. Wow. And she made it look so effortlessly!
