19/05/14 – Colour Your Own Day

19/05/20148

In 1929 Helen Keller sent a letter to a radio station, thanking them for their broadcast of Beethoven’s ninth symphony.  Though deaf and blind, she ‘heard’ the music by touching the speaker, feeling every single note…

In an age where children only recognise their parent’s by the back of a mobile phone, Helen’s articulation of her experience* is a lesson in being present and enjoying ‘the now’.  Holding music in her hand to interact with the event transformed it into a beautiful experience.

Having to focus a little more to create your experience is an opportunity to put more of your own beauty into the moment.  Make this week your canvas, and paint your world beautiful.
Start with your swim today, you add the colour…

Minimal swell, near glassy surface.  The ocean whispers a sleepy good morning.

The new Booty Camp sun salute.

Water temp was a mild 21 degrees, and the sun warming.

Underwater conditions were clear with many fish to be found.

Back at the tables of wisdom, Anna shared her 50 shades of grey…

With many thanks to bloggers Elaine and Nick for the great photos of today.

Bear Cottage Big Swim!!!

To help Bear Cottage continue its essential work, on the 21st of June, 2014, 9 swimmers from the Bold & Beautiful swim group will each be attempting to swim the 14.2 km between two of Sydney’s most iconic beaches – Manly and Bondi.

The swim will mark the culmination of months of committed training and planning, countless hours spent in the pool and ocean. On the day itself, each swimmer will face the hazards of fatigue, hypothermia, strong swells, jellyfish, and the ever present threat of sharks.

Please give generously so that we can all make a contribution to the lives of Bear Cottage children…

Love the black and white pics! I’ve always thought b&w was better for landscapes – the clouds look wonderful.

    Thanks Andrew –
This is a great opportunity to see what it would’ve been like to swim in the 1800s.
I’ve often wondered if Rainer was alive then – proving he is a vampire….

Thanks to all the blogsters & photographers for the time & effort that goes into the B&B blogs. Today the first picture & gorgeous wording “Minimal swell, near glassy surface. The ocean whispers a sleepy good morning” brought an ahhh! & a smile as I remembered those sweet, precious moments at the start of my day.
