The weather made a huge turn around today with a warm start to the morning. While the air was warm the surf still felt a little cold to me. Maybe I am just reclimatizing. The wild surf yesterday has kept some swimmers away with only 83 of us this morning. It was a challenging swim, very choppy and rollercoaster like. If you like water parks then the swim today would have rivalled some of the best rides.
The best shots were taken out of the water this morning during Storchy Bootcamp. We had the unveiling of the new Storchy Ramp with Nick congratulating Storchy. Nice work Storchy!!
I jumped in for some of the Boot Camp and let me tell you, it’s a fantastic work out and you won’t be able to walk straight for days after it. Perfect!! Thanks Storchy sharing your time to organise some group fitness. It’s great mixing it up with a swim afterwards.
Clearly some people struggle more than others. Go Shauny!!!

So have i spiked anyone’s interest yet? It’s frog jumps or as I call it a game of Frogga.
What a leader. Storchy will push you just past your comfort zone, which is just what we need in a trainer. Here he is showing us how it is done.
It’s nice to have Lucy back after her long 6 week trip away in the north end.
Brad & Lucy taking to the water in the usual manner of arm in arm.
No matter how warm the water gets it always hard getting in. We always try to stay dry for as long as possible until the inevitable.
Think Lesley is doing a rendition of Thriller. Come on everyone join in. They’re out to get you…the waves are closing in on every side…
Others are singing “Reach for the Stars”. Hey whatever floats your boat and gets you out there. Who are we to judge.
Unsure as to who this was in the water this morning but if it is you, let me know. I have a couple more shots of you….
It’s always nice to see your own swimming style and since we all love seeing ourselves in the blog here’s another action shot..
For the quick swimmers they have time for a leisurely chat at Shelly Beach. Annie & Lesley catching up.
For those of you who missed out on push ups before swimming there is always the option of joining John & Ted at Shelly for a quick few. It’s always so inspring to see so many motivated and inspirational people in the group. I don’t know about you but it really helps me be the best version of myself.
I only found one fish in the water today and it’s like nothing we have ever seen before. Mermaid Annie..
As you can see from this pic it was a little too rough today to get close to the rocks for some snorkelling so no underwater shots today everyone.
There were a few nice waves to catch on the way into shore this morning. Did anyone catch some ?

Thank you Storchy for a fantastic workout! and congratulations on having a ramp named in your honour.
I’m sure Jack will bring his grandchildren down on the 18th September every year to commemorate the event.

Oh and an update on our friend Binsy.
I heard today that he does have three loves,
1/ Mountain climbing.
2/ Yachting
3/ World Conservation combined with charity
Apparently he is responsible for single handily removing typhoid and gangly fever from Ikea Top Ryde.
Thank you Jenny for giving him a hug this morning.

Fun blog today, with some great pics of the Storchy boot camp. Might be a bit tempted myself, although the seventh shot is a bit off-putting!
Thanks for the explanation Nick. It does look a bit rude….

Thanks DW and Jenny for pushing Binsy’s wagon.
You’re both saints, as is he!
Binsy, I know your hurting mate and your compassion shines through whenever I have the honour to chat with you.
It’s great to see a male so in touch with his female side and not scared to cry or talk about his emotions. You are one of the few men I know that notices when a lady has a new dress or a new hairstyle. All class!
You truly do talk the talk and walk the walk. One of the few confident and comfortable to bridge the gap between Manly SLSC and us Pink Cappers. I salute you!
Lets all get behind Binsy tomorrow and, if you’re a blokes bloke and not comfortable giving him a hug, shake his hand pat him on the back and say ‘Onya Mate’, ladies a big hug please! Lets all get behind Binsy in his hour of need. Help one who has been so selfless with his time in helping others.
Binsy for Australian of The Year, I say!

Renae and Nick,
thanks for the plug regarding the Ramp. It’s been a long battle to get this up and running, weaving through the red tape of the Manly SLSC. Many sleepless nights in consultation with the selfless Binsy and DWTS, sitting around the kerosene lamp, sketching different designs in the sand only to have one tearful setback after another, arriving the next day to have the tide wash away our meticulous planning overnight.
Binsy and DWTS are the true ones to thank here, tirelessly collecting teeth fillings from dentists, smelting them for mercury, and selling it to unscrupulous resalers for funds, then mixing barrow after barrow of mortar then placing and floating so that we the little people can get access to the platform!
Thank you all.
