We wish Ragnill Stallvik a very happy birthday and hope that Norway isn’t too cold…
It wasn’t a traditional Australian summers day (as far as I know!) but the slightly grey sky didn’t deter anyone (except the bloke walking the wrong way!) and the fact that the point was pretty much out of the water was even more welcoming!

A few keenos were limbering up early, ready for the crossing to Shelly…

Sadly my photographic skills haven’t improved much since last week but there are some swimmers in there somewhere- honest!

The welcoming party at Shelly were very enthusiastic this morning

Even the Blog tarts, who had already Bolderdashed (without flippers, well done Elaine!) still had the energy to pose for a couple of piccies!

Finally, I have to break it to you that you may have thought that multi billionaire Richard Branson had joined us this morning BUT in fact it was our newest recruit Malcolm! Another swimmer closer to reaching 4,000 by 2013- what an incredible achievement Jules!

Talking of incredible things, look at all the exciting events we have to look forward to!

Good job, Pippa! With all the jimbles and bluies around recently, I think you’re very bold to be blogging in your bikini and looking so lovely and relaxed too:-)
Lovely conditions for a bolderdash. If any super-slowies would like to join Jon, Bob and I tomorrow, 6.35 for 6.40 departure. On Thursday Simon C has kindly agreed to join with his arms tied behind his back:-)

Agree with Sarah, great blog Pippa!! We love the bikini blogger. And well done on spotting Sir Richard Branson.. 🙂
Thanks Elaine for joining the ‘slowies’ (and Ian) for a flipper-less bolderdash-shelly swim this morning! Conditions were close to perfect. I can see LSA is already recruiting for tomorrow’s bolderdash. Anything to get a few more km’s between herself and DWSS..
See you all tomorrow!!

Hi LSA
Paige and myself have committed to each other to do the bolder crawl tomorrow, so I’m sure SS will also go not wanting to be left behind.
I think AnneE may also wish to come so as not to be left too far behind on the PC since her sojourn to TAS has hamstrung her and she’s dropping down, down, down…………..hehehehe

Pippa
Great intellectual blog with dry pommy humour Pippa!!
You can always download stock photos of fish at stockphotosoffish.com if you miss a few,
Lesley mentioned that’s what she does when she can’t be bothered!
DWSS (or SS to his mates), I’ve checked the forecast for the night swim. I think if we start burlying around 4pm at manly point and bower we should get a good trail going in a NE direction to attract our friends..your thoughts?

Well done Pippa the Bikini Blogger, us Pommies and Irish make up a good percentage of bloggers don’t we? Thanks for featuring us Boldercrawlers! Little Sarah really isn’t the slowest swimmer, it’s me! I enjoyed it this morning though and if I can do it without flippers anyone can. Thanks Lips, LSA, Jon and Iain for keeping me company! After all that swimming I’m still last in Column 1 though but at least I’m still there!

I’m keen to join a Boldercrawl, maybe Thursday morning? I haven’t done anywhere near as many km’s as you lot so I’m not a threat and don’t even know what this magical Column 1 is!

DW to you Mr S. haha
Yes, thank you for checking that out JS. To complete our sinister plan we only need a few participants to wear white rashies and pink light sticks. Hehehe Wahahaha
I believe we require only a 15km burley trail should do the trick.

Pls do join us, but be warned – if you join the Boldercrawlers, we’re very slow indeed and stop to enjoy the sunrise and sights, so you may wish to put on a wetsuit. 5.35 for 5.40 start.
I’ll explain more and give you tips on getting into L1 then:-)

It was only at the very end that you slowed down when you were swimming with severe wet-suit chafing on your neck. Must have been painful. I use sheep’s wool fat around the neck, from the local chemist, before long swims.

We are burlying up for the night swim , to make things interesting and get some wild life shots on the blog.
The white rashies are what we are using to spread the fish guts. Hahaha

How fantastic to be mentioned on the blog today – one year afer my last swim with B&B (although not my last swim in a pink cap!). Last year was a birthday to remember for the rest of my life; first having Happy Birthday sung to me by B&B and then going on a 3k swim to Little Manly beach and back, before leaving Manly in the afternoon……
And yes, Norway is cold and dark at this time of year, still Hilde (also a former B&B swimmer now resident in Trondheim) and I are planning a winter solstice dip in the Fjord on Saturday. Nor sure why, but it is kind of fun 🙂
Will send a photo if the camera shutter don´t freeze! Enjoy those beautiful summer swims. xxx
