18/10/2012 – Cheers ! Or is it Bottom’s Up ?

93 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

An overcast sky doesn’t dampen our spirits.  Everyone was as keen as ever to jump in the ocean for what was a gorgeous swim this morning !

Well apart from Andy who was keen to pause briefly to show off his neck line as he ‘walked the ramp’ 😉

Judy’s birthday present to her son, Lindsay was to bring him down for his first swim with us this morning !!  Yeh – perfect 🙂

Francois was happy to be sharing the experience with a friend of his this morning too, Joe.

Welcome to all 5 of our new swimmers this morning 🙂

Everyone’s happy to be in the mix, wetsuits or not we’re all equal in our pink caps 🙂

A few little waves

Seemed to take some people by surprise… Chris !? 😉

Gerard, the General Manager of the Steyne Hotel, is looking pretty relaxed and enjoying the 7 o’clock swims now everything’s in order ready for our awesome Trivia Night that they are generously hosting and sponsoring next Tuesday evening !  Only 5 more sleeps 🙂

The prizes and auction items are outstanding !!!  Thanks to the extremely generous support of our sponsors, local businesses and swimmers for the donation of all our fabulous prizes.  Check them out here

It’s just gorgeous waiting at the point, enjoying the view and checking out who’s swimming as we gently roll up and down with the sun beaming down on us 🙂

Yep Russell, it’s true, John K looks good whether you look at him through one eye or both !

Regardless, Robbie seems pretty confident he’s Number 1 !

Whose bottom is it anyway… Stephen you need to be careful taking photos like that ! 😉 🙂

There’s definitely less wetsuits and more pink showing these days, summer’s on it’s way !

The water’s clearing too – yeh 🙂

Check out these superb photos of the Catfish (ok, I know we’re supposed to be calling it a Cobblerfish now – not gonna happen) taken by Stephen !

Rainer was so excited, his wife had given him permission to go ‘all the way’ with little Sarah this morning !  Photographic proof…

My favourite photo of the morning !  The air bubbles look like globules of mercury.  It’s kinda cool hey !  Which blog tart is it anyway ??? 😉

~10 early lappers and 5 doublers made the most of the early tranquil waters.  Good job they did as by the time we walked home from brekkie the bay was full of blue bottles 🙁

There was lots of fantastic
dialogue running in the comment section of the blog all day yesterday – loved it !  But… it seems after all that talk, Lesley needed a rest day today in preparation for
flipperless Friday tomorrow ??

It’s great to have Leisa back with us this morning after a month of holidaying with friends and her daughter in the UK.  It’s good to see we weren’t far from her thoughts whilst she was away though as she took the plunge in Loch Lomond, Scotland.  In water temperature below 10 and air temperature of 8 degrees.  Sunrise: what sun?  Sunset: drizzled all day.  Locals: yelling concerns re hypothermia!  Leisa’s appeal for an honorary WWW! ;))

Now this is pretty cute… “Who’s got the funniest hat??”  Taken at Piccadilly Circus in London 🙂

Libby Kulmar has been busy whilst on tour, she has submitted plans for a nice modest new clubhouse for the southern end of Manly Beach…

Perfect don’t you think ?? 🙂

Happy birthday to Cate Brockbank and Lindsay Cameron today 🙂

Graham Kent is heading down to Melbourne this weekend to Ride Around the Bay as part of Team Forest Rollers to raise money for disadvantaged children in Victoria.  Every dollar goes direct to the Smith Family. The team has trained hard and 20 of them from Sydney and Melbourne will be pushing hard for the whole 230kms !!   If you’d like to sponsor Graham and his team please do so here

Water Temperature 18.5
Air Temperature 14.0
Sunrise 6.10am
Sunset 7.11pm
High Tide: 10.55am

Oh what fun we all have!
Elaine almost went finless apparently… a funny story she or Jon will have to tell…
Maureen, been hoping to see you to catch up AND would you mind sewing on our badges? Only three between us, you’ll be relieved to hear…. Jules assures us you’ll be happy to help. Any morning that suits you and pls let us take you for breakfast!

    Cheeky Jules!
Just for the record, Little Sarah and I went ‘all the way’ back to the surf club this morning.
And yes, I enjoyed it. And yes, my wife was okay with it..

No mention today of the (non-?) sanctioned 6, 6.15, 6.20 and 6.30am Shelly and the 5.45am Freshie groups??
    Boohoo
    How floppy was the water?
    🙂

Hey Lesley, what happened to “I can’t go a day without swimming” 🙂 I was all ready to join you flipperless today as I really have to drop them. I wont be back for a few days but will definitely go sans flips next time…… & convince Pete L to go naked feet also :p

Not swimming tomorrow Lesley, paddling (outrigging not walking in water to knees)and cycling. Rainer would your wife mind if you went ‘all the way’ with Sarah, Lesley and I on Sunday with naked feet?
I would prefer to swim in 12 degree water without wetsuit than go flipperless now, but am facing my fears on Sunday. We may even do a double even though I am now aware it doesn’t lead to extra ticks ;( Nearly in the first column though!!!

Not quite sure who the mystery blog tart is Jules, but he sure is one handsome fellow! Pretty sure that’s three points in the spreddy for him too 😉
Psyching myself up for my first double tomorrow with that famous bum LSA tomorrow too! Rainer will will jealous as I get to go all the way twice with her…

Elaine, just checked with the wife. She’s okay, provided the photos don’t end up online..

Ha, ha – what one has to do to get FIVE points in the spreddy!
Looking f/w to a double ‘all the way’, Rob (be sure to get Emer’s permission!) and don’t worry about Rainer, he has a double ‘all the way’ coming up on Sunday with not only me, but Elaine, Lesley and whoever else he picks up along the way:-)
As for Jules, what she doesn’t realise is that while she’s been distracted by playing with her camera, Michael has been quietly going ‘all the way’ for double fun with Jon these last few mornings:-)

Oh my, someone is going to quote this out of context one day.. there goes my career in politics!

I’m not sure I am going to keep up with all the blog tarts on my return and their ‘all the way’ antics!
Rob where that 3rd point coming from ?

First blue bottle sting of the season today, long tentacle wrapped around my back, across my should and chest to other wrist! Not too toxic – used magic spray and all stinging gone before 9am – no scarring (at least no more than normal) 😉

I’d love to sew your badges, Little Sarah & Jon. I’ll be swimming early tomorrow, but will be back @ the club by 6.55am.
Forget taking me to breakfast, I’d just like the answer to a trivia question or 3. That goes for the rest of you also, you know who you are. Anyway I have a list.
Mrs Badger will only be around for the next 5days & 48mins (Gotta love the countdown).
