Another glorious day on Lake Manly with 172 of us heading out in the beautiful weather
to keep us nice and awake, oh and I’m back! A big thank you to Stephen and Nick today
for the photos, whilst my camera is with the camera gods waiting to be fixed!
..and stretching ….
Snorkellers love clean, clear water it means we can find Shelly beach no problem!
At midnight on 18 August 1958, Brojen Das from Bangladesh
started his swim across the English channel. He was the first Asian to swim the
distance and the first person to cross it four times.
We have some amazing people in the B&B, but did you know
last year on 18 August….French swimmer Philippe Croizon completed a
swim to link five continents using custom made flippers?!?! The swimmer who
lost all his limbs in an electrocution accident hoped his accomplishments would
inspire other disabled people.

LOST AND FOUND …blue Speedo goggles at Bluewater, Toni Jackson has them if you lost a pair today, let us know..they’ve been found!

A sardine was swimming along with his mother and they came across a submarine. “What’s that, Mum?” said the little sardine. “Why, that’s a tin with people in it, dear!”

Great Blog and a riot of a birthday card!

Just thought I might post this story of my Hobart granddaughter Rose who is 10 years old and has just swum 10km to raise money for breast cancer research. So far she has raised over $1000 with more to come. This has certainly inspired me to go for my 10km badge this Summer and I hope it will do the same for lots of us.
Here is Rose with her brother Sam after the swim (over 5 hours with a 10-minute lunch break).
