Good morning and happy Wednesday! For those of you who have been looking around for Wendy’s lacey thong, she found her ‘Flip Flop’ today hung up in the changing rooms!
The first morning in a while when the air temp has been below 20 degrees. I’ve just loved this long Summer, but today we’re forecast a max of 22 and the water temp recorded 20.5! Sunrise was at 6.19am and we had around 160 swimmers.
Just a short blog today as I’m off to try and recruit volunteers for ‘Friends of Cabbage Tree Bay’at a Volunteers Expo at Town Hall. If anyone is interested it’s a lovely way to spread our love of the beautiful bay we swim across and only involves a few hours a month at weekends. Ring Robynne Millward on 99762842 or pop in to Manly environment Centre if you can help! You just stand at Shelly beach with a blackboard and write up the names of the fish that snorkellers, swimmers and divers have seen and keep an eye out for spear fishermen etc. A great way to get to know all the names of the sea creatures too!
This beautiful Wobbegong has been resting on top of a rock near halfway. It’s been there for the last 3 days! Kerry thinks it might even be about to give birth. It’s amazing how well he camouflages in with the weed…
It was Mandy’s birthday today. I’m sorry I missed the birthday splash at Shelly, I got distracted by that massive, amazing Wobbegong!
Here is gorgeous Peta at Fairy Bower today after her swim!
I got a few photos of swimmers high on endorphins, finishing their swim today.
Rob and Tayls. Tayls is donating funds to a fantastic environmental project in India which transforms waste in to energy. Good on ya Tayls!
Nicola, Jenny and Jemma after their swim
Mary, Sophia, Kelly and John
Jane and Queen of the Wows, Lisa!
Here’s a Wobbegong in with a school of Yellowtail

Sunrise this morning
Roz and I took photos of each other today taking photos of the huge school of Yellowtail!
Ted and I are just loving having our son Charlie swimming with us. He’s got his first Uni assignment and he has to take photos of fish of Cabbage Tree Bay!!
Just in case any of you hadn’t realised there is a Mini Challenge as well as Pacific challenge at the moment so those of you who are more recent swimmers can get high up the spreadsheet. Cheryl is first followed by Sue and Greg Marinan. Well done guys!
Have a fantastic day!
