As you can see it is a FULL MOON tonight, hence the title. If you want to hum the tune its from

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s, ” I see the bad moon rising”, used in this clip from 1970.

Just before 6.30 we were invaded by a fleet of standup boarders

There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around
That the colt from old Regret had got away

All the tried and noted riders from the stations near and far
Had mustered at the homestead overnight

There was Harrison, who made his pile when Pardon won the cup

The old man with his hair as white as snow;
But few could ride beside him when his blood was fairly up –
He would go wherever horse and man could go

And Clancy of the Overflow came down to lend a hand,
No better horseman ever held the reins;

And one was there, a stripling on a small and weedy beast,
He was something like a racehorse undersized,
With a touch of Timor pony – three parts thoroughbred at least –
And such as are by mountain horsemen prized.

Then fast the horsemen followed, where the gorges deep and black
Resounded to the thunder of their tread,
And the stockwhips woke the echoes, and they fiercely answered back
From cliffs and crags that beetled overhead.

When they reached the mountain’s summit, even Clancy took a pull

But the man from Snowy River let the pony have his head,
And he swung his stockwhip round and gave a cheer,
And he raced him down the mountain like a torrent down its bed,
While the others stood and watched in very fear.

And down by Kosciusko, where the pine-clad ridges raise
…..The man from Snowy River is a household word today,
And the stockmen tell the story of his ride.

Summer (badge) swims are go!!

Summer Badge season is in go mode!! Every Saturday during summer there will be a 6km swim – usual route is to Freshwater and back, then once a month there is a 10km swim.  Route depends on conditions that day so it is a good idea to arrive a little early to have a briefing from Squadron Leader John ‘007’ Bond. The second 10km badge swim will held on a Saturday in Mid January 2014 (date to be confirmed).

    Not that action shot in Hawaii AGAIN Simon! That’s made the blog about 20 times in the past year….. ;-D
    Although I can see why it’s very impressive!
    Lovely swim – distinct smell of some sort of cleaning solution though around Shelly – does anyone else smell it?
    Lips your German nose should be able to shed light on the situation?
