17 November 2017 “Bloody freezing”

17/11/20177

Verdict from the early swimmers was “bloody freezing” not to mention to seaweed, jelly blubbers, wind, bit of waves (“quite bumpy”) and rubbish. However still a good swim overall.

Here is Yassar from Honolulu. Honolulu is full of Australians so he probably thought he would come and see Australia and some more Australians. The water is not as warm as in Honolulu though. Especially not today

Bumpy

that did not stop people swimming at all

Geoff and Ian stopped because we heard a woman calling out and I saw a raised arm but we did not find the swimmer. I hope everyone returned ok. I think a Raised arm is a call for help?

Ian kindly stopped near the point

Georgie stopped for a hello

some dots that are swimmers

What I have been reading: Following recommendation from Roz and supported by the very many reading swimmers, David Sedaris’ Me Talk Pretty One Day. It is great. I have studies different languages as a beginner and his anecdotes about trying to talk like an adult when you only have 100 words of vocabulary were hilarious.

While you wait for Santa to come you can go to the B&B Christmas Party

Thanks Elizabeth for your blogging on the swim today….sounds like its getting towards proper ocean swimming. Lumps & bumps of jellies with waves to arrive soon.

Elizabeth I do love your blogs (especially the way you write) . Also, this time I enjoyed the way the photos meld into each other.
On another note, if anyone out there is interested, I am reading Sapiens “A Brief History of Humankind” by Yuval Harari. I am really enjoying it.

The photos meld because I was rushing to finish. I did not get to mention Greg in the photo with you who has TWICE swim from manly to Bondi beach. To visit friends at Bondi!!! Also newbie Judy who picked not the best day to start
but still had a great swim. I will put that book on the list

Not a good day to decide to ditch the post-swim bottle of hot water.

Maybe today was a good day for newbies.
These are the days that help you fully appreciate those when the water’s warm, or when it’s flat or the visibility’s ideal, or when the duskies or the cuttlefish are about.
It’s all looking up for Judy. Welcome to B&B.
