A sensational day (again). With a low tide at 6:14 this morning there were no shortcuts but for the brave or those with no undercarriage. A 2ft swell, next to no wind with a 5 knot nor-westerly and a balmy 20 degrees with no bities to be seen. It doesnt get much better.
It was so calm I’d swear I saw Scotty and the crew get up on the plane on the return leg. Even the air was sweet after the few days of rain.
The beach goers were a little thin on the ground today.
The 6:30 crew were ahead of schedule with such good conditions.
The gathering was also light on for such a classic day.
Some were hedging their bets but no bities today
Some were showing off some new stretches guaranteed to increase speed and impact awareness
Just the demo was enough to draw the crowd
Some had already done a lap and were back for more
The low tide created a scenic hike to start
And also called for a reduction in undercarriage exposure
The glassy conditions screamed out for a for a dog leg on the back 9
Some took the wide berth to pickup the Pacific current
And here is a hind shot from someone with a kick that sent the air eddies down super deep.
Like swimming behind a tornado
And for the obligatory fishy friend shot for Guy Buckeridge, a deep sea lizard up for an easy meal.
A couple of speedsters lurking on the inside lane ready for the jump
Thats a false start, there was definitely no “lets go”.
And then out of the corner of my lens I caught this unsolicited show of happiness
Then it became infectious
The low tide made for a scenic hike back to the ramp
Ed and the early faithful getting their dose of sunshine to charge up for the day
And now to the important part of the day. Bluewater has published a long-awaited new breakfast menu. Some of us couldn’t wait and got in early in anticipation
It took a while to sort out what to have with such a large new selection thanks to all the suggestions pitched by the patrons
Juice shots for $2, just the ticket
And the official board and reminder bout the Christmas party coming soon.
Go forth and prosper and be sure you have a great day while you are at it.
Cheers
Brian

More triumphs! mark has added Nick’s pic to the OzMus website:

Lovely to bump into Simon while I was working at the OzMus today (well, in the café actually). 4 generations of Cowells (well, 3rd. gen. missing) – Simon’s Dad Dave, Simon, and Grandson Max. Gave them a sneak tour of the Fish Shop. AND introduced them to the elusive Mark himself, who loved Simon’s pic of massed Eagle Rays.

Great blog Brian!
New Bluewater menu? Never thought I’d see the day! I like the look of that juice shot. And whatever Millie is having in that other photo.
