92 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
enjoyed what started off as ‘just’ a normal, beautifully stunning, sunny, calm swim…

Which some obviously still find a little chilly… Simon, Ian !?

We found Two flatheads for the price of one…
I dived down to photograph this lovely flathead, once I got down there I spotted this second one, totally camouflaged in the sand with no colouring on him at all !

There were lots of Yellow Tail Scad

and what I thought were lots of lone Port Jackson Sharks swimming around minding their own business…

But… just after I photographed this beautiful big female she swam away, only to get accosted by a lurking male !

They were entwinned for what must have been 15 minutes !

and then there were three…

and then FOUR !!!
Check out these fabulous photos below courtesy of Jeff Lange. In the fifth photo Jeff captured the moment when one of the other PJs swam up and nudged the copulating male 😉
The whole thing was AMAZING !!!!!

You can watch a short video of the whole thing – Two Port Jackson Sharks Mating here !
That wasn’t the only action out there this morning; 7 swimmers also enjoyed the early dawn lap, 2 went up to Queenscliff and 8 doubled with a second lap of Shelly.
Also, there was a pod of dolphins in the bay just before we entered the water too 🙂
Another magnificent morning ! Plus what’s more, these superb conditions are looking to remain for at least a week 🙂
What a delightful winter we have had !!! A whale, a seal, mating sharks and 650 pink capped swimmers have swum at least once so far over winter !
132 swimmers have currently qualified for their winter badge so far ! With another 69 on target and another 89 who need to swim soon to make sure they don’t miss out…

Clear blue sky, calm clear water – too good to miss.
Great photos and video of the PJ’s, especially to capture 4 together.
Were the other 2 larger sharks females wanting to be part of the action?
Happy Birthday Michelle.

The male PJ is not very attractive is he? Like a slimey eel!! 😀
Great chance experience Jules!! You can see in Jeff’s second photo with you in it just how big the PJ’s were!
Lovely clear swim!!!!

I’m so impressed with how deep Julie can dive to get the images. Note her jimble tat, very recognisable!
Great blog today.
How nice was the water, flat, clear and no jimbles!!!
