16 Jan 2018 – Cloudy and Windy with Meatballs

16/01/20182

After a southerly howler all night, I expected the conditions this morning. The Northern ends claimed 2 metres of swell while our nook was half that with about 1 metre waves on a high tide which made for a very easy point run. We will see the swell fall between now and Saturday as the Nor Easter takes over and beats it down with a calm 1 foot by end of week.

The water quality though pulled up a little short of ideal, hence the heading.

The temps came off a degree but barely noticeable.

The 6.30 gang raring to go.

Though we started off with promise in the skies….

It didn’t last long.

Very bleak in parts…

Shelley despite the blow was her usual calm self.

Bit of a bob on the way back and the tailwind didn’t help with any PB’s.

And by the time we got back, the blue sky had returned.

Have a great week folks.

And to an important update. Julie and the team in WA are in the running for Budgy photo of the month. If you have time send it viral to give them a chance at the prize.

Very good report of the conditions today. Does north easterly mean blue bottles?
