15/11/2012 – Sun Fish & Sardines for Breakfast

15/11/201219

Over 75 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

It might have been a cloudy start to the day for some, but not if you’re part of B&B… Every morning is bright 🙂

Welcome back to Rory from Geelong 🙂

There was a large blue and green grouper swimming together at the point !  I wonder if it’s groper mating season ??

Lovely stingarees, duskies, and a beautiful big Sun Fish !!!  I’ve never seen one before.  A lovely great big thing with a fin that’s about 2 feet tall which we saw from the walkway after swimming.  We even jumped back in, twice !  To try to get a photo but no such luck… maybe tomorrow.

We did see a jimble eating sardines for breakfast though !!  Never seen that before either.

It’s always worth getting up for, there’s something special about the swim every single morning 🙂

Some great shots from Simon too:

14 swimmers also enjoyed Bolderdash, a few the early Shelly lap and Michael C doubled all on his lonesome 🙁

Happy 50th Birthday to Shaun today !!  He seemed to be doing it tough with all the birthday lovin’

That was after he’d given the very clear thumbs down to a group of his fellow B&B swimmers dutifully practicing CPR on each other.

Butt what… ?

See what you’ve started Simon !!

Thanks to the staff at Murray’s at Manly, we had a really great evening yesterday, thank you all 🙂

Jimbles swallowing sardines.. whatever.. pathetic blog tarting!
I swallowed bits of seaweed on Tuesday and no one bothered taking photos of that.
Happy Birthday Slowest Shaun! Did you sing to yourself this morning? 🙂

Alas young Leslie, my apologies, all I can do is a make good by having another shot taken with you without the pink towel and with my B&B cosies on.
I’ll wax, pluck and colour tonight in preparation!
But with your legs you should be showing them off at every opportunity!!!!!!
    😎

    Thank you team.
Not quite 50 yet though, maybe next year if I make it.
Yes Rainer, I did sing happy birthday to myself and made John S sing sing to me too.
As a special birthday challenge please also note that I was successful in beating Andrew D back to Manly today!!!!!!,
It seems the earlier I leave, the bigger the winning margin.
Sharon, thats 1 blog point for Rainer. hehe

    Hi young Rainer
3 of us were honoured to swim with SS for the prestigious 6.10am Slowest Shaun Shelley Birthday Bash Swim and fortunate enough to sing a joyful and heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday to Slowest Shaun to hear the echoing of the tune off Bower and surrounds. A privilege that SS chose to swim with us on the morning of his 50st birthday rather than spend the time in bed resting as many his age may chose to do on such an auspicious day! I look forward to reaching that milestone in a few years time!
HAPPY 50TH SLOWEST SHAUN, GO GET EM!!!

I have to report the above post as slighty inappropriate !! Since when is Rob ‘cute’ and ‘lovely’??

  • Rainer

    15/11/2012 at 3:53 pm

John S, no one told me about the early morning birthday swim for SS. It would have been an honour for me to be down there singing and saluting him.
Makes me think… 6:10 swim eh? You all had dry hair when I came down at 6:50. Just saying.
