NEWS JUST IN ……..

All 9/8 or 7 swimmers managed to reach Bondi yesterday and are all enjoying a rest today! Well done …..however …..

A B&B’er with a keen eye noticed yesterday’s log and pointed out this ……

Iain had been practising for the swim and earns this accolade ….BUT….on further investigation by another B&b sleuth …noticed Iain’s entries for yesterday…..

MANAGEMENT are preparing a response to the apparent ticking of swims yesterday. They have noted that all other 14km swimmers did not appear to tick for any k’s. Technically is this swim counted?!

Winter Badge season kicked off 1 June.

You know you want one! There are 14 weeks in the winter season. To qualify for the prized Cold & Bold Badge you simply need to swim 20 times within the season ensuring you have swum in a minimum of 7 different weeks. So, attempting to do it all in the first few weeks does not count!!

B&B i-Log

Really if you haven’t been using the B;B i-Log then you must be new!! Almost 75% of swimmers are now using the B&B i-Log. Log your swim ANYTIME of day using this really efficient and easy way to ensure your swim is recorded in the daily attendance and on the Pacific Challenge. To get started, send an email to Ian Forster ugoboyo@gmail.com (This is not a link so please copy and paste into your email). He will check that your email address is activated on the attendance register then send you info on how to get started.

Staying safe

We have had seen the return of some serious waves and rips this past week! Were you prepared? Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is impo
rtant to know your limits. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

One of these days these boots are gonna get all wet, but meanwhile, perfect cool, dry mornings for the Uggs & hugs….. love coming back to them after the swim and glad a blog has been dedicated to them!
Thx for flying back for a little modelling, Lainey:-) xx

    Great blog Snorks.
And what a scoop catching Ian L out on his illegal 10k / Bolderdash ticks. That’s the B&B equivalent of a $3000 bottle of Grange!
B&B blog journalism at its best!

Magnificent blog. I love the boots on bronze statue installation and photo. But the fish kiss is outstanding. Wow.

Thanks Elizabeth….. Is it the puffer you like? I was kinda lucky as they are fairly shy but this one was super photogenic….one of my fave fishes too!

Thanks Lips, I’m just really lucky that the watchful eye of some individuals helped out in this scoop.
    * NB …..bloggers have been known to bribe their informants for insider info.

Well spotted LSA ….some of these photos may / may have been taken over a few weeks ….it takes a while to get a catalogue of boots together!

Lips, how could you have been so mean to spoil Iain’s party celebrations?:-)

    I agree!
I thought for sure that Elaine was just doing her usual fast moving to have flown back for that shot. 😉 Hi Elaine!

And it’s not just an ordinary Puffer Snorkles, but a Stars and Stripes Pufferfish (Arothron hispidus, for those who like the scientific names). I always think it looks as though the pectoral fin is someone waving a flag out of a porthole!
OK if I send your great pics to Mark at the OzMus?

Neither the Boulderdash or 10k swims are available in Winter. However…. we have a new rule that says anyone who swims from Manly to Bondi during the Winter can claim a 10k and a Boulderdash. Any takers??

You’re welcome LSA! We did have a dip in the River Rhine today (a tributary, the River Lek in Holland.) An oil tanker swam past us, visibility was 0 and it was about 19 degrees!

It would be fair if all the Manly to Bondi swimmers claimed a Boulderdash + 10 km which are usually summer out and back events. In winter it’s harder and out and back would have been either to Macquarie Lighthouse near South Head and back or to Long Reef surf club and back.
If someone swims more than 10 km, they should be given the option of whether to do two short swims or one bloody long one finishing so far away that mechanised transport is required to get back the the B and B base within the day!
They all started at the recognised B and B official swim time at 07:00 h.
Three cheers x 8 or 9 for the Manly to Bondi swimmers.
