We’re better at noticing changes out of the corner of our eye. The cells in your retina, for peripheral vision are more sensitive to subtle change (technically called ‘flicker’), than the central vision, which is adapted for focused detail analysis.
This might explain why the more we focus on finding happiness, the more elusive it seems to become.
Happiness is a change that exists at the periphery of purpose. By immersing ourselves into purpose, we create a focal point around which moments of happiness can flicker into awareness.

Glad you liked it Shelley…
Walking down to grab the camera it wasn’t looking like much of a photogenic morning.
Then those rays of sun cracked over the cloud and it was suddenly ‘game on’.

Well blogged Andrew. I like to think of myself as the happy flicker in the periphery of the blog camera.
