We had a cracking evening yesterday at Jonny & Di’s beautiful home in Clontarf to say goodbye to Jules & Michael. There was food, drink, singing and a special video too. Thank you to our amazing hosts, Im looking forward to popping over regularly for a sunset view and a glass of vino…. 😉
Jules and some of the guests

This blog is a bit of a mish mash today. I have certain items to get through so todays swim might not even get much of a mention!
Firstly, for those who were not at the party yesterday here is the link to the goodbye video on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VaxYC45vRE
Massive thanks to Jessica Trad www.jessicatrad.com.au for putting the video together. Please check out her website for all your video production needs!
Next I have to apologise to approx 3,976 B&B swimmers who either a) Did not get asked to do a video or b) Did a video and didnt make the final edit or c) Did a video and got edited down from a 4 and a half hour epic to 10 seconds. (Shout out to Jules Mackin who was particularly dissapointed! Sorry Jules!)
If any of the other 3,976 swimmers have any complaints though, please feel free to send them to the following email address:
idontcare@readmylipsidontcare.com 😛
I look forward to reading each email carefully. 🙂
Two videos that didnt get in to the final video purely because of technical reasons are below…sorry we couldnt put them in to the final edit:

This is a picture of two bums.

Iain got some advice from Michael C last night: HTFU! Didnt seem to work…

There is someone missing from this photo Lori…where were you? We want some yoghurt and some popcaaaaaaaaaaaarn!

Jane does a careful inspection of the male marine life

Anna A has been rounding up random Swedish backpackers recently. They all came down for a swim with us today. From left to right is Anna, Hurdy, Flurdy, Blurdy, Gurdy, Lurdy and Tomas!

Stephen C got some cracking photos this morning

John realised he has started to get undressed a little too early on his way back from Shelly. Wait till you are out of the water John!!!
Lastly, Jules has a lovely Honda Accord for sale, 2007, 35,550kms on the clock. Please email her if you are interested or talk to her at the next swim.

She also has a 70 year old male for sale with over 1,000 (Nautical) kms on the clock. Price is very negotiable!

Thanks for yet another great blog Robbie 🙂
A massive thank you to Jonny and Di for hosting such a wonderful get together yesterday evening, to everyone who came along and to Robbie for succeeding in his sole objective of making me cry (not so hard to do, this is true!) by compiling the superb video with (some ;-)) of your beautiful comments.
PLEASE ALL keep swimming and keep B&B there for everyone, everyday.
GOOD NEWS… we still have 4 more swims, with this Friday being the (prediction somewhat teary) cheerio swim xx

Lesley – hilarious video, you’re ageing quite well all things considered. Loved E-lane and Ted’s too. It was so nice to meet Elaine’s lovely parents last night.
Thankyou Jonny and Di for your wonderful hospitality last night. So sorry, I left my umbrella behind at your house. It’s dark blue lined with silver. I can pick it up from you at the swim one morning, or call in, whichever best for you.

For those of you dying to know how the B&B Away Team went in the Avalon Swim (see photo above):
Fifi smashed it with a 3rd in her category and Natalie came 6th in her category. Andrew & Jim were both 20th in their respective categories. Of the 351 male entrants Andrew 55th, Greg 91st, Chris 128th & Jim 136th
More importantly, Andrew beat his brother. Did I mention that Chris beat Jim?
Game on next week for the Warriewood-Mona Vale Swim

Who’s interested in a Melbourne swim trip fro a March 9 swims?
This is a great swim in one of my favourite parts of Australia – beautiful beaches, bay and surf. http://giantsofthebay.com.au/kayak-sales.php
This 30km swim is heavily tidal assisted, 5.6knots estimated in places.
Entry available for solos, duos, teams of 4 or 6.
I’m keen to be part of a team – a team of 6 makes it a pretty social swim and not too tough on anyone. Let me now if you’re interested and on what basis – we’ll also need some paddlers. I’ve been helping the swim organiser and he’ll help us secure boats and also has a paddling/ski company.
Plan would be to go to Melbourne either Thursday evening or Friday morning – stay in Queenscliff, do the swim Saturday, party Saturday night and we have Sunday up our sleeve in a beautiful part of the world – beaches, wineries, breweries, olive farms, cafes, etc.

Thank you Jonny and Di for hosting a great send off to an amazing couple – Jules and Mike. You two are going to be missed!
The farewell video was fantastic. Well done, not an easy job of editing.
And Rob the Blogster, thanks for your witty humour.

Thanks, Robster, for being so inclusive of the key Triad members. You’re getting the idea:-)
Ann’s comment about Royal Far West and extortion gave me an idea – why don’t we pass the hat around and try to mop up the rest of the calendars and present them to the RFW for distrubution.
I’ll start the ball rolling, Jules, by contributing $100 from the Points Fund that Lips has been collecting. He’ll pay it straight into your account!
Ha, ha – no I’ll ask Jon, my techie assistant to do it today! Hope it also assists with your Triad Reunion expenses:-)) xxxx

Im feeling quite uncomfortable right now, sitting in an Abbott sandwhich.
With Jon bellow me and HKTQ on top of me in the PC challenge, I have a dilema.
Swim tomorrow and finish on top of HKTQ or stay where I am??????
I feel Jon poking me in the back where I am currently.
Sorry Sarah, I am about to get on top, I hope you dont mind.

Great blog, wonderful film clips of tribute, and hilarious comments yet again.
It is obvious we need our own comedy club. So much wit and self deprecation in this group, which indicates extraordinary intelligence, beauty, compassion and humility. And I’m not just talking about myself here.
Also, I’ll have you know that the Swedish backpackers I rounded up were very excited about their first swim with the B&B. They are here on Vorrrking Holliday Veeesas, are a credit to their parents and they are competent in all fields and professions (move over Dr John).
If you need help with child minding, running a small cafe or some uncomplicated gardening, then talk to Adam and his four girls, aka Ellen, Anna, Petronella and Elsa.

Stephen,
I am in for the mexico trip! Whilst slightly aggrieved they have made their swim a little longer than the Palmy Manly Swim I fully support their only a kayaker needed for soloists position.

great read mr blogster, i will have to subscribe on mondays. there were 2 umbrellas left behind, also a jumper and a jacket, one boys and one girls. they will live in my boot until claimed or i start wearing them, so please grab me after a swim (the girl i mean). also a v small cooler bag. on the other hand there were a couple of unfinished wine bottles too, the operative word here being “were”. the Schaffers all had fun, with such perfect guests. thanks everyone for making it so effortless bringing and taking away again.:)see you for a sundowner Robbie.
