13/12/12 – Nothing like a Swim to Clear the Head!

13/12/201244

141 Bold and Beautiful swimmers stepped out today, a few a little groggy after our Christmas Retro party last night… We were rewarded with bright skies, warm air temp, rolling waves and lots of sunny smiles…
The party last night was a great success. Pink hats and goggles aren’t the most flattering but our B&Bers all showed they can scrub up very well! (Last night’s photos end of Blog!)

A brighter sky from this angle!

A jolly good turn out after the party. The water looked a lot calmer at 6.45am but by 7am a few waves to wake us up!

Looks like somebody didn’t make it back after the party!

But she managed to revive herself! OMG, what is coming out of your nose Lesley? This was the only marine creature captured today 🙁

I ran out of the water to take some shots of you all, waiting at Shelly. I wanted to see your smiles so shouted ‘Dolphins’, no luck, tried ‘Shark!’A few heads turned!

Look how happy (or hysterical) these ‘Extreme Swimmers’ look! They had just done a Bolderdash and swam in to Shelly. Little Sarah is fighting to get to the top of the Pacific Challenge with 4.5 km swims each day!

Got some photos from the walkway and rocks of you all swimming in through some big waves. Where’s Wally Lesley crops up again!

The swell was up and there were some big waves coming in. Well done!

Our very own mermaid Jules, was found washed up on the rocks…(You need a better brush Jules!)

The Retro Christmas party was great fun! Thank you very much to The Steyne Hotel for hosting and providing the yummy food.
See who you can spot in the photos below! Our ‘Marine Expert’ Jane in the middle. Not sure about the ‘Ladee’ on the right!

Lovely Annie, Sue, Michael, Retha and Michelle Sparkles…

A few more swimmers showing us they like to party!
and dance!

And cuddle!

Thank you to gorgeous Maureen for making us the lovely pink capped Xmas decorations to take home. (M is 3rd from left)

We can’t finish without more reasons to swim with The Bold and the Beautiful! More next week!

Great blog Elaine! You know you’ve really made it when if you appear on your cartoon page. That’s my favourite bit!
What a great night last night :). Maureen – I LOVE our Christmas pegs – the cutest thing i’ve seen in ages – thank you – I can’t imagine how long they took to make.

Amazing pics and blog, Laney Loo and great party pics too… Now I’m in training for the English Channel, the pressure is really on:-))))
Lovely Boldercrawl this morning and special thx to Paige for a special guest attendance with the Super Slowies – lovely to have you with us. As for the other 10 Bolderdashians – are you sure you were out there?
    Bluewater news:
    – Dr John’s new pendulum stroke only works in pools, but if one of his lady friends joins us, he may be able to swim in the sea again for a special appearance:-)
    – DWSS (that’s Shaun for newbies) has declared he won’t be swimming while I’m away for Jan.
    – Lucy is fading away, so Brad’s taking classes in cookery and full-time caring.
    – *special news for Lips* – I’ve started recruiting Sunday mystery bloggers. Anna, would you mind showing them a few basics – in Dr J’s case, that means starting with learning how to click on the link for the B&B and finding out who Lips and Snorkles are!! Auditions starting soon…..

I am never going away ever again. look at all the fun I miss.
PLUS I see I will have to boldercrawl for a months to stay in column 1!
hope you all had a great time at the party, sorry to have missed it.

LSA should we really be playing with fire whilst living in watery houses?
The INTEGRITY police (DWSS and I) were out for a lazy crawl round the shark nets looking for dolphin to bottle for the OS export market when up sidles sweet, apparently innocent and disarming LSA and Co; moving at the speed of a jimble with a broken tentacle, but straight and in a direct line from the Heart to Shelley for the crawl/shelley 4.5km swim.
I’m sure a corner was missed there???
    SS?
    😉
LSA Jack – son missed you at the party last night!

  • DWSS

    13/12/2012 at 12:57 pm

    Yes LSA.
You are such an inspiration, I really do love your work.
As you will be away, I am struggling with swimming in your absence.
It is just not a fair competition on the pacific challenge so I have decided to follow your Leed and just tick without swimming.
Breakfast Quote of the day from a Little Lady without naming names
    “He thinks I’m honest”
    Great night last night.
Thank you to the party team organisers.

    Great blog E Laine
Much more interesting and intelligent than previous bloggers. Must be natural talent with looks.
    Ted is a lucky man.
Ted, great Lucy impersonation last night. Didnt quite nail it but great effort. Haha

  • Little Sarah Abbott

    13/12/2012 at 1:14 pm

It was “He KNOWS I’m honest”!! As for the so-called Inegrity Police’s trip out to the shark nets, ha ha ha – we didn’t go near it today as we had to bring Paige back (or almost back) to get her to work on time, so caught out!!!
As for Jack – isn’t that cheating to go to all the parties without having a swim? Sounds like he’s following his Dad’s example:-)) See you in the surf, Jack!!
Sparkles – great pics too. Lips, good job to go from party-loving impersonator of E-laine as impersonator of Amy Whitehouse to Boldercrawlian at 5.40 this morning. Worth giving up a beer for, wasn’t it?

  • 'The Lips' formerly known as Rainer

    13/12/2012 at 1:22 pm

Oh Lesley, caught out by the blog police!!

  • Laney-Loo formerly known as E-lane

    13/12/2012 at 1:26 pm

I can see the Lucy/Ted similarities! Thanks for your support guys. If anyone else has a wig or hot pants of mine please return tomorrow!

    13/12/2012 at 1:27 pm

LSA, yes.. was cursing you and your iron fist training regime last night when I had to turn down all those offers for ‘just one more’ drink / dance / grope etc.
But we were rewarded with a beautiful morning swim to Qeensie today. Absolutely worth it!!
I believe I earned a special badge by being the only one that rocked last night AND showed up for 5:40 boldercrawl this morning! 🙂

  • 'The Lips' formerly known as Rainer

    13/12/2012 at 1:29 pm

Yes, great blog Elaine. As usual.

  • DWSS

    13/12/2012 at 1:41 pm

Oh yes my fury secret friend.
I do believe we require a FULL audit of the PC Km’s
Whilst on integrity patrol i do believe there WAS a hypotenuse used by
“He thinks Im honest” LSA and her sidekick Tonto Lips
Squirrel , I do believe we Are battling corruption issues though as yet again,
“He thinks Im Honest” LSA was seen feeding The one and only M Christy.
    (Controller of the PC Data)
She is good, so very very gooood.
