12/08/2011 – How Sweet It Is…

August 12, 201116

48 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Gorgeous conditions again this morning, the water is just beautiful and our Port Jackson was out to play again.

Michael Christie, John Bond and Isobel Kirk enjoyed a second lap too.

It really has been a mild winter this season, as far as water temperature goes anyway, yes honestly it has 😉 and there is only 19 swims left until spring – yeh ! That means there’s only 19 swims left for you to qualify for your winter badge !!

Brekkie was extra sweet this morning as Bruce Paterson bought a cake for Iain’s send off and Elaine Kindred made cakes for Vicki Harbutt and Mahdi Deaton’s send off for the Dardanelles swim. It would simply have been rude for me to not enjoy them both… !

Please don’t forget our farewell swim for Iain tomorrow, where we will paint a little bit of pink zinc on ourselves and literally see him off in the car to the airport straight from the swim…

Plus we had our two pregnant ladies there together too, Debbie Long and Sheri Deacon. I can’t wait to have two new B&B babies to cuddle at Brekkie 🙂

Welcome back to our attendance technology guru, Magnus
Butlin. Lovely to have you back Magnus and it will be even better to have you back in the water tomorrow 😉

Check out this beautiful on tour photo of Tomas Lees who was posing with his little Mum, Anna Alvsdotter in July on the shores of Malmoe, in Sweden, with the Oeresund Bridge (between Sweden and Denmark) as a backdrop.

Thank for all your lovely comments yesterday in response to yesterday afternoons world record post. We will file a world record application with the guiness book of records while we’re at it and see what happens 🙂

Happy birthday to Alex Prendergast today 😉

Water Temperature 17.5 degrees.
Air Temperature 12 degrees.
Sunrise 6.38am.

Sunset 5.23pm.
High Tide: 7.15am.
Low Tide: 12.53pm

The munchies were great at breakfast. Thanks Elaine and Bruce. Particularly Elaine for saving me one of her cakes!!!
We have five days of available training time left before we leave! I just know we’ll be joined by heaps of “Dardenellites” for our double laps in the remaining mornings???

Thought you might like to see this.
The bay could be full of octopus and we would never know.

Safe travels and swims to Iain and all the Dardenellies.
Is there a badge involved in the worlds largest swim group?

You would be more than welcome in our little group as we have had a couple of regular members go missing this winter which was a shame as they had a hilariously cute dog who we miss greatly, oh yeah and we miss them too. If by chance you too have a dog it would mean that our grieving process for our lost friends could be completed and you could fill their long vacated holes in our swim group.
Look forward to meeting you tomorrow!

There could be octopus and nothing else really. Quite creepy really that they can hide like that. Quite amazing footage.

Help please! I’m thinking of changing my phone/broadband service from Primus to Optus. Does anyone have any feedback from experience with either that they could give me? I’d really appreciate it.

Jane, have a look at iiNet ADSL 2 + Home 2 with Phone 1. $79.90/month incl 200GB. Also look at getting BOB2 combined phone and wireless modem.
    Cheers,
    Stephen
