12/06/19: Sโ€™not Easy Being Green!

12/06/201915

Some B&Bers are naturally connected. They don’t need an ‘everyone wear green today’ email! This is living proof.

Even the keep cups were green! Luckily the raisin toast wasn’t!

But the morning didn’t start out all green!

There were ย lovely hues of yellows, pinks and orange too!

This is the ย start of 7am group walking to the point.

Others took it more slowly, soaking up the early morning rays first before venturing in.

These guys couldn’t wait until 7am!, They got in early and were well finished by the time we all turned up! Looks like Mark got lovely highlights and a mohawk on the weekend. Sorry Mark – I keep taking your photo facing into the sun!

Blog tart Bordo!

Camera error (certainly not blogger error!) resulted in these two underwater shots being the only photos that turned out from the waterproof camera! So sorry to all the awesome B&Bers who modelled for me. They would have been the best photos ever, I’m certain!! At least these photos were in keeping with ‘S’not Easy Being Green’ theme!

A huge congratulations to Roger who clocked 500kms today. There were celebrations at Shelly with water splashing and Roger calling out the “Let’s Go!” He only started logging his swims in August last year! Awesome effort!

Welcome back Karen! ๐Ÿ™‚ We’ve missed you!

Huggles all round!

A mermaid between two coffee smiles!

Laughing and chillin’.

Thanks to Bluewater for creating Martin’s very own cushion! He was able to enjoy its cushiness whilst listening to a great talk by Pammy on Sven and her trip to Everest base camp last year. It sounds quite enticing. You get to lose your bags for 3 months, ย sleep in heater-less rooms in minus 22 degrees and fly in the smallest plane ever to land on one of the worlds shortest, most dangerous runways ever – if it over-runs – no need to worry – just a mere 2000 metre drop off a cliff. Insert expletives here “#$%^%$#$%^&^@#&*^$%#@%$^%!@” ย Where do we sign up?

Last but not least! Bon voyage Lainey and Ted! 7 weeks, 7 kilos of luggage and the cheapest flight in the history of the universe. GO you good things!

Until next time.

Lucy C

Winter swimming

The B&B Winter swimming season started on 1st June!

Although the water temperature may be a little colder than you might like, there are several advantages of swimming in winter, including flat seas, good visibility and no bluebottles.

Perhaps the biggest advantage is that you can also qualify for a winter badge by swimming a minimum of 20 times between 1st June and 31st August. You must also swim in at least 7 different weeks. If you manage to do all of your qualifying swims without a wetsuit (or other thermal enhancing equipment), you will also qualify for the coveted WWW badge (Winter without wetsuit).

Start now, and donโ€™t forget to log your swims to qualify!

Wonderful blog Lucy, giving me a laugh as Iโ€™m sat on a plane about to fly off! Very creative and brilliant photos. You forgot to mention youโ€™re not allowed alcohol or coffee on Pammyโ€™s Everest trip. It certainly sounds a trip to remember! Amazing morning down there today. See you early August folks!

    Yay, comments are restored!
Inge is handling that fin like it’s poison. She put her dignity on hold for the art director’s sake.
Fabulous blog as usual Lucy, you sure know how to work a theme.
    Did Martin have piles?

Yes, as I always say, fins compromise one’s style Shelley.
Lucy we saw The Greens today, will we see The Reds and The Blues next week? Or is it too soon after the election still (he, he)?
