Highlights from this week’s swim:
- Lips FINALLY does a new blog face and what a beauty it is!
- Dave P. was a question on a T.V Quiz show ! CLICK HERE
- Blueys AND Jimbles hit big on Thursday – Poor Cath gets ROASTED by them!! The big dilemma: go to Shelly and get jimbled OR go north and get blueyed…. unfortunately in Cath’s case she got BOTH going NORTH!
- Last Sunday’s Blog hits new all time low with ‘Gutter Talk’ Lips
- New Temp-Blogger Terry McJ makes his debut on Tuesday.
- Perfect weather turns ‘bad’ by Weds..come on really, is it ever bad here?
- Water Temps go up into the 20’s
- Friday is choppy and messy, jimbles and dead-blueys everywhere…
- Roger does his final Friday blog …. (maaybe..)
- Jeff (below) caught peeing in an Iceland swimming pool
- Jill and John braving it in the North Pole
And now today…
Weather was good – nice and clear..water a fews waves and choppy but no wind or blueys or jimbles! LOTS of people too…
The water was warm enough to hang out in and take your time… but a bit hazy. My sources tell me that some random person, no doubt drunk, has dumped a WHOLE wheelie bin of rubbish into the water off half way (Bower)!! Pauline did what she could to collect the rubbish but it was just too much 🙁 Also apparently there is a bit of a legend amongst us.. Belinda …she grabbed what she thought was a bit of plastic ..now I can’t remember exact details but apparently at some point she realised it was a CONDOM!! Yep for once it wasn’t me! Now here’s the best bit, she didn’t just throw it back in the water she found something to put it in and then swam back all the way and disposed of it… That level of commitment brings tears to my eyes, as a bnb swimmer and rubbish collector. It is to be commended and surely badge worthy?? Well done Belinda!
The two JK’s! Jenny is out of her long wetsuit the other JK is impressed!
Lips and family arrive…
Good crowd today…
Nick ONCE again trying to steal his kid’s blog moment with their dinosaur books..his blog tarting is getting outta hand..
A family moment at Shelly…
Huge school of fish… not sure what they were..
More family moments… #avagettingoverit..

The A Team Boys Melbourne Weekend
The Famous Summer swim called the Boulderdash starts on Monday 26th October. If you don’t know what it is – it’s a return swim to Queencliff heads (and back). It takes about an hour starting around 5.50am. I think it goes pretty much everyday ..depending who turns up. It’s worth doing even just the once.

B&B Monthly Dinner – this coming Tuesday!
The next B&B monthly dinner will be this coming Tuesday 13th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Merrilee Linegar, who is a qualified nutritionist and herbalist. Merrilee’s topic for the night will be Brain Longevity. The way you live your life today affects how your brain functions tomorrow. Merrilee will discuss how natural medicine, diet and lifestyle improvements can optimise brain function, prevent memory loss and decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s. While most of us keep our bodies fit by swimming regularly, we often forget about our brains. Don’t miss this one!
The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (including a vegetarian option), corkage (for BYO wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

Thanks Bubbles. What a week!
I can’t get over those last two photos. Pure gold. They will have to be revisited in future blogs.

That is not me in the helicopter shot. Just someone who looks like me.

A bit worried about those unit blocks in the 4th photo down – looks as if they might be falling into the bay soon………..

Glad to see you back blogging, Lesbubbs!
Lips kind of you to carry Jo’s surfboard for a ‘cool surfer’ pic:-)
And is it Kerry Stokes or the Australian taxpayers that are now kindly providing B&B helicopter services?
