11/07/13 – I’ve got chills…they’re multiplying

11/07/201321

115 Bold and Beautiful swimmers took the plunge this morning into an invigorating getting-slightly-chillier 17.1 degree surf…

Not sure how many early-lappers joined the Drinks Express – usually it’s around 17-20 people. (For the uninitiated, this is a quick

swim that leaves BnB central at 6.30am — great for badge hopefuls not wanting to wait too long at Shelly!) Here’s Drinky and Dave emerging

Changeover at BnB central…6.30am’ers finishing up while 7am’ers get started…

Dave brings our only ‘newbie’ today, his son Matt – welcome Matt!

Leisurely or reluctant…? Gotta admit I’m partial to loitering at the waters edge so I don’t have to wait too long at the point

Wonder if our resident yachtie has seen some our many photos of his home on the sea?

Simon and Jill (below) at Shelly…

Nick discovered a rather large octopus close to shore but it got busy hiding under a rock when we went to take a closer look…mmm, no surprises there I guess

And we’re away again…

Brian taking a leisurely look around

John, Sarah and Rainer getting up close to the Tardis…maybe wishing they were onboard??

Back to base…

Cathie and Sue having fun under-cover…

I tell ya folks…it’s harder than it looks

But then there’s beanies, warm sox…

coffee and friends…

Speaking of friends, Jules and Michael sent this postcard with greetings to ALL (from their recent visit to Carins)…always GREAT to hear from you Jules and Michael!!

For your Diary

Jay Gatsby, the old St Patrick’s Seminary in Manly (now the
International College of Management).

Any questions? Ask Stephen, Nick, Krystyna or Snorkles at any swim!

Staying safe

With
the return of the winter swell, remember that there are no badges for
scaring yourself silly!  While it is great to extend your boundaries, it
is important to know your limits.  Do read these excellent tips on
staying safe in the surf.  To read, or even download, click here

Could the Integrity Police please check on the 6:37am sunrise?
Just want to avoid churning our legal team (again). The last thing we need is readers complaining to the open water swimming ombudsman about false and misleading statements regarding sunrise / sunset.
    Thanks.
