150 lucky swimmers started off the day in the best possible way this morning… Now the clocks have gone back and we have light in the mornings Manly really is the best place to be…Above the water and in it!
Manly we love you!
Here we are all ticking off and meeting up. Lips the Blog Tart gets in early!
There were quite a few six-packs around today ladees…
Here is Drinky or Andrew Drinkwater who sponsors us and helps keeps the B&B going. Make sure you get your tiles from Amber in Seaforth or Mona Vale! (He gives out the best cuddles too according to Jane S, our Marine Expert!)
Swimmers, Six-packs, Stalkers (me) and Snorkellers all get ready for the surf club clock to reach 7am…
Perfect conditions, warm, calm and ahhh-mazing!!!
A bit of two way traffic now as Alex and the early swimmers cross over with us regular 7amers. Remember there is always a group swimming at 6.30am if you’d like to join them.
Ros, our latest blog tart is happy to be alive with Michael and Louise!
Hope my photo of you and Kristina makes the Did You Swim Today? Facebook page today SC!
Our generous sponsor Vicky, from Access Communications, who provides us with all the pink caps is dying to swim in that silky water with our starlet Izzy!
Guess the arm???
What happened to The Point today? We are supposed to congregate together near the telegraph pole as the all inclusive, welcoming group that we B&Bers are! We were very spread out today. Jules would not be happy.
On the way over to Shelly I found some old wives. (And I didn’t need a mirror Gaetan 😉
150 B&Bers swimming on the surface and 15,000 yellow tail below…
What a beautiful morning, could be the best swim of the year. (And it’s a Thursday 😉
Here is gorgeous Julia, our swimming belly dancer with a newbie Dave. Dave has just moved to Bower Street from Melbourne. We hope he’s going to become a regular swimmer!
Dr John is back and Jules our inspiring Ironwoman!
Now Dr John, we know Lips has appeared on the blog more than you and has more
points on ‘The Spreddy’ but you don’t have to drown him!
So glad my friend Louise came down for her second B&B swim! Lou with hubby Mike and John H.
Visibility was great today and I didn’t hear of anyone getting stung. I enjoyed swimming close to the rocks on the way back and trying out my underwater photography.
One for the ‘Guess My Butt’ competition!
Loads of fish were to be seen close to shore coming in again. The usual groupers, mados, luderick, kingfish and some pretty looking leatherjackets. Not sure what the 3rd fish down is though. Any guesses?
Back at the surf club and there are a lot of happy, smiling faces including from these new Argentinian swimmers, Martina and Solongio (or something like that!) Please come back (I say on behalf of the single ladees of Manly!)
Love the shorts Dr John, Iain isn’t so sure…
And a last word from some of our more mature gentlemen…We love you Rob and Greg!
We have got some great sponsors who help to keep the B&B going so please have a good look on the left hand side of the blog!
Did you know Bold and Beautiful swimmers get $2 coffees from Bluewater? Just show your BandB discount card! (you can get these cards from ..Lesley)
Murrays at Manly is another sponsor and offers us Happy Hour priced drinks next Wednesday evening from 6pm. So come along and meet your fellow B&Bers all scrubbed up and dressed up!
You can also get lots of other discounts from our sponsors – see who they are on the left side of blog.

Thank you Elaine for the return of the blog tarts (especially you-know-who). Owing to their recent absence from these pages, I was most concerned that they had been kidnapped by North Korean submarines.
Yours,
Julia

“The best cuddles” indeed! And parading around in a state of undress! He told me he leaves home early just to swim and then sell tiles to pay for the rtw cruise I’ve planned!
Shocked!

Sorry Mrs Drinkwater, I was a bit worried you may read the blog. He promotes Amber Tiles a lot during and after his swims. Infact the cuddles recipients are all avid Amber shoppers.

How great are conditions this week! Elaine, great blog as always. Love the use of photos throughout the blog. Rob, take notice.
Dr. John didnt try to drown me. Just another (failed) attempt by my to do ‘subtle’ blog tarting.
Jane W, good swim this morning. We timed our 6:59 getaway perfectly. Don’t think anyone noticed. Happy to buddy up with you until HK Triad Queen returns later this month.

An intelligent guess, Lesley: It certainly looks like my arm … but it looks to be wearing a watch (which my arm does not). The mystery is yet to be solved.

That makes me feel just a little better! I’ll tell him to bring the Amber tiles down to the swims and insist on an Amber sale in exchange for one of those “best cuddles”:-)
From now on, I will be checking the blog carefully!

To-day was heaven sent and made for a double dose, especially taking it easy via the scenic route – the way of the fishes – thanks Michelle for the steer and John for keeping back with slow-coach-minus-flippers-me. What a day for a daydream…

Just a few notes –
Triad Queen, I am sooo looking forward to climbing on top of you this Saturday!!!
Thank you for the opportunity.
Andrew did not give me a hug when I bought tiles off him a few weeks ago – I am happy to donate this hug back to the community for a good cause. Highest bidder, funds to a local charity.
Julia G, When are you coming down to swim with us again?
Oh Triad Queen, I am talking about the Pacific Challenge.

Long fingers attached to that arm. I think that watch is just for show. That watch is definately water-logged.

Re ID of last fish pic: I suspect it is a female Crimsonband Wrasse (Notolabrus gymnogenis). I’ll ask Mark McG. if he can confirm.

Just you wait, Mr Shenanigans, just you wait!
Lips, I see an opportunity for a new side-line – trading in Andrew’s hugs and tiles. I’m sure we can arrange a package deal for Julia. And T-Abs will give us a bonus to keep her occupied….
Don’t worry, Mrs Drinkwater – your hugs will still come free and that cruise slush fund will soon be ‘in the pink’!
